A1(M) Junction 51 to Junction 50 - Temporary Road Closure for Loop Cutting Works

THE A1(M) MOTORWAY (JUNCTION 51 TO JUNCTION 50)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited has made an Order on the A1(M) Motorway, in the County of North Yorkshire, to loop cutting works to be carried out in safety.
The works are expected to start on Monday 30 September 2024 for 1 night, or until completed, and will take place between 8pm and 6am.
The effect of the Order will be to close, at times during the works, the A1(M):
(i) southbound carriageway from the exit slip road at Junction 51 to the entry slip road at Junction 50, a distance of 17260 metres; and
(ii) southbound entry slip roads at Junction 51.
During the closures suitably signed alternative routes will be available at all times.
Traffic signs will indicate the extent of the prohibitions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or vehicles being used in connection with the said works or for winter maintenance or traffic officer purposes). The Order comes into force on 29 September 2024 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months.
