A180 Trunk Road & M181 Motorway - Temporary Restriction And Prohibition of Traffic For Carriageway Pavement Works
What is happening?
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14
THE A180 TRUNK ROAD (BROCKLESBY TO STALLINGBOROUGH)
(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC, CYCLISTS AND PEDESTRIANS)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited has made an Order on the A180 Trunk Road and the M180 Motorway, in North Lincolnshire and North East Lincolnshire, to enable carriageway pavement works, road markings, stud reinstatement and associated works to be carried out in safety.
The works are expected to start at 8pm on Monday 30 September 2024 for 6 months or until completed.
The effect of the Order will be, at times during the works, overnight between 8pm and 6am Monday to Sunday nights, and over weekends between 8pm on Friday and 6am on Monday to:
(i) close the M180 and A180 eastbound carriageway from the M180 exit slip road at Barnetby (Junction 5) to the A180 entry slip road at Stallingborough, a distance of 16300 metres;
(ii) close the A180 and M180 westbound carriageway from the A180 exit slip road at Brocklesby to the M180 entry slip road at Barnetby, a distance of 10400 metres;
(iii) close the A180 eastbound entry and westbound exit slip road at Barnetby;
(iv) close the A180 eastbound exit and entry and westbound entry slip roads at Brocklesby;
(v) close the A180 eastbound exit slip road Stallingborough;
(vi) close the A180 eastbound entry and exit slip roads at Immingham Services; and
(vii) ban cyclists and pedestrians from entering or using the above-mentioned lengths of carriageways and slip roads.
During the closures suitably signed alternative routes will be available at all times.
It will be necessary, for 24 hours a day, for the duration of the works to:
(viii) impose a temporary 50mph speed restriction on the above-mentioned lengths of carriageway and slip roads; and
(ix) close the laybys adjacent to the above-mentioned (i) and (ii).
Traffic management will be in force 24 hour a day and traffic signs will indicate the extent of the restrictions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or special forces vehicles) and the prohibitions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or vehicles being used in connection with the said works, to anyone engaged in the said works or for winter maintenance). Access will be maintained at all times to premises and properties accessible from, and only from the A180.
The Order comes into force on 29 September 2024 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months.

THE M181 MOTORWAY
(MIDMOOR INTERCHANGE TO FRODINGHAM GRANGE ROUNDABOUT)
(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited has made an Order on the M181 Motorway and the M180 Motorway, in North Lincolnshire, to enable roundabout construction, site clearance, earth works, drainage, kerbing, road signage, barrier installation, lighting, carriageway surfacing and lining works to be carried out in safety.
The works are expected to start on Tuesday 1 October 2024 for 9 months, or until completed.
The effect of the order will be, at times during the works, overnight between 8pm and 6am Monday to Sunday nights, and over some weekends starting 25 October 2024 between 8pm on Friday and 6am on Monday, to close the:
(i) M181 northbound carriageway from its merge with the M180 eastbound and westbound carriageways at Midmoor Interchange (M180 Junction 3) to its junction with Frodingham Grange Roundabout, a distance of 3130 metres;
(ii) M181 southbound carriageway from its junction with Frodingham Grange Roundabout to its diverge with the M180 eastbound and westbound carriageways at Midmoor Interchange, a distance of 3430 metres;
(iii) A1077(M) roundabout;
(iv) link roads connecting the M180 eastbound and westbound carriageways with the M181 northbound carriageway at Midmoor Interchange; and
(v) link roads connecting the M181 southbound carriageway with the M180 eastbound and westbound carriageways at Midmoor Interchange.
During the closures suitably signed alternative routes will be available at all times.
It will be necessary to impose, 24 hours a day, starting 8pm on 25 October 2024, at times during the works, a temporary 50mph speed restriction on the:
(vi) M181 northbound carriageway from its merge with the M180 eastbound and westbound carriageways at Midmoor Interchange northwards for a distance of 933 metres;
(vii) M181 southbound carriageway from its junction with the A1077(M) roundabout southwards for a distance of 1875 metres; and
(viii) link roads connecting the M180 eastbound and westbound carriageways with the M181 northbound carriageway at Midmoor Interchange;
Traffic signs will indicate the extent of the restrictions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or special forces vehicles) and prohibitions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or vehicles being used in connection with the said works or for winter maintenance or traffic officer purposes). The Order comes into force on 30 September 2024 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months.
