Proposed Construction of Road Humps in Howwood Midton Road

Details of the Proposals

The Renfrewshire Council in partnership with Howwood Community Council and, in accordance with section 36 of the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984 and section 3 of the Road Humps (Scotland) Regulations 1998, propose to construct road humps in the form of speed tables incorporated into gateway features and uncontrolled crossing points at the locations specified in Schedule I and II of this notice.

Speed tables specified in Schedule I will be formed to extend the full width of the carriageway for a maximum length of 10m and maximum height of 75mm. Existing kerbing and footways to be amended as required to form the crossing point.

Speed tables specified in Schedule II will be formed to extend for the full width of the carriageway (allowing for 250mm drainage channels at the carriageway edges) for a maximum 10m in length and maximum height of 75mm.

All road humps are subject to the tolerances as permitted within the Regulations.

Location of Proposed Road Humps

Schedule I

1) Midton Road, at a point approximately 32m west of the junction of Midton Circle.

2) Midton Road, at a point approximately 30m east of the junction of Bowfield Road.

Schedule II

1) Midton Road, at a point approximately 114m west of the junction of Midton Circle.

This consultation period shall run from 25/09/2024 to 23/10/2024.
