What is happening?
A2 TRUNK ROAD (MARLING CROSS) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that National Highways Limited intends to make an Order on the A2 Trunk Road in the County of Kent, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to prevent incursion into works proposed to be executed on the Kent County Council network.
The effect of the Order would be to authorise the overnight closure of the slip roads at Marling Cross. These measures would be in the interests of road
safety while contractors undertake resurfacing works on the Kent County Council network and all associated works.
It is expected that the work would last for approximately 2 weeks starting on or after Tuesday 29th October 2024.
The Order would come into force on 27th October 2024 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months, ceasing when the works are complete.
Traffic affected by the closures would be diverted via other junctions of the A2 or by using either the A227, B261 and Valley Drive, or Brewers Road, or the A227, Green Lane, Camer Road, Sole Street, Jeskyns Road
and Henhurst Road, as required.
The temporary closures and diversion routes would be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period
