NOTICE OF INTENTION TO MAKE AN ORDER Sections 32, 35 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers
THE BOROUGH OF CHARNWOOD (OFF STREET PARKING PLACES) ORDER 2022 AMENDMENT ORDER NUMBER 1 2024 (Order)
1. CHARNWOOD BOROUGH COUNCIL (Council) gives notice that it proposes to make an amendment to The Borough of Charnwood (Off-Street Parking Places) Order 2022 (the 2022 Order) as varied by a notice dated 8th April 2024 under sections 32, 35 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 and any other enabling powers
The Order is intended to come into operation on 3rd February 2025 (or as soon as possible thereafter.)
2. The effects of this Notice of Intention are to make variation to
a) Clause 44 of the 2022 Order so that the penalty referred to is amended from £6 to the full daily rate as applicable for Beehive Lane and Granby Street car parks
b) The First Schedule of the 2022 Order as set out below so that the parking prices and hours of charge are amended in respect of the car parks at Granby Street Pay on Foot car park Loughborough, Brown’s Lane Car Park as for non-users of Loughborough Leisure Centre and Charnwood Indoor Bowls, Brown’s Lane Car Park as for users of Loughborough Leisure Centre and Charnwood Indoor Bowls, Beehive Lane Loughborough, Southfield Road Loughborough, Southfield Offices Car Park Loughborough and Southfield Offices Visitors Car Park to the new proposed provisions as set out below:

c) The First Schedule of the 2022 Order so that the words “no return within the hour” shall be removed in respect of Brown’s Lane Car Park (as applying to non-users of Loughborough Leisure Centre and Charnwood Indoor Bowls)
d) The First Schedule of the 2022 Order so that the words “no return for one hour if parked for three hours or less” shall be removed in respect of Southfield Road car park.
e) The First Schedule of the 2022 Order so that the words “Between 06:00 and 18:00 no return for one hour if parked for three hours or less” shall be removed in respect of Southfield Offices Staff Car Park and Southfield Road Visitors Car Park
f) d) The First Schedule of the 2022 Order so that the words “Pay and Display” shall be replaced with “Pay on Foot” in respect of Granby Street Pay on Foot car park
The 2022 Order will be varied only in respect of clause 44 and The First Schedule.
A copy of the proposed Order and a copy of The Borough of Charnwood (Off-Street Parking Places) Order 2022 and a statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the Order may be inspected free of charge at Charnwood Borough Council Offices Southfield Road Loughborough LE11 2TX between the hours of 9.00am to 4.00pm Mondays to Fridays (excluding bank holidays and public holidays).

Any objections and representations relating to the proposed Order must be made in writing and should be sent to The Head of Regulatory Services, Charnwood Borough Council Southfield, Road Loughborough LE11 2TX before 20th October 2024.
