What is happening?

The Nottinghamshire County Council

(Melton Lane, Sutton Bonington) (Temporary Prohibition Of Driving) Order 2024 (R24-216)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Sutton Bonington in the Borough of Rushcliffe. The effects of the Order will be:

1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road.

a. Melton Lane, Sutton Bonington - From its junction with Pithouse Lane, for a distance of 150 metres in a Westerly direction

2. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.

3. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.

IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows: 
From 07:30 Hours, Monday 7th October 2024 

Until 16:30 Hours, Monday 14th October 2024, Inclusive.

AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be:

a. Trowell Lane - A6006 Rempstone Road - Park Lane - Main Street - Marle Pit Hill - College Road - Melton Lane and Vice Versa

The Order will come into force on Monday 7th October 2024 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out.

The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18months).

The prohibition is required to enable DSC Building and Civil Engineering Ltd to carry out New Connection Works.
