What is happening?

LEICESTER CITY COUNCIL
The Leicester (Consolidation) Traffic Regulation Order 2006
(Grasmere Street & Mill Lane) (Amendment) Order (No.364) 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that The Leicester City Council has made an Order under Sections 1, 2, 4 and 5 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of this Order is to update, amend and introduce new prohibitions, restrictions or provisions on parts or length(s) of road(s) listed below by way of amendment to the Leicester (Consolidation) Traffic Regulation Order 2006, together with the additions and changes as set out below:

Mill Lane
1. Introduce a One-Way Street restriction (except cycles) from its junction with Western Boulevard to its junction with Grasmere Street in that direction.

2. Prohibit vehicles from Waiting & Loading/Unloading ‘At any time’ north and south sides; from its junction with Western Boulevard to the east side of its junction with Grasmere Street.

Grasmere Street
1. Introduce a One-Way Street restriction from its junction with Mill Lane to its junction with Jarrom Street in that direction.

All other restrictions remain unchanged.

A COPY of the Order, the relevant plan, the Council’s statement of reasons for making the Order and extract copies of the Order being amended may be seen at Leicester City Council-website: www.leicester.gov.uk/trafficregulationorders or by calling 0116 454 1001, or email transport.strategy@leicester.gov.uk and requesting a paper copy to be sent via post.

If you wish to question the validity of the Order or of any provisions contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act, or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may, within six weeks from 28th September 2024 apply to the High Court for this purpose.
