ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

NOTICE OF TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDERS 2024

Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, intend to make an order the effect of which:

Long Lane, Wrington, North Somerset

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2024

Date coming into force: 30 October 2024 - Ref: SW24.25.187

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.

This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Openreach to replace frame and cover. This will become operative on the 30 October 2024 for a maximum period of 18 months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 3 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Old Hill, Winford, North Somerset

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2024

Date coming into force: 7 December 2024 - Ref: SW24.25-208

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road. This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by National Grid to 48m trenching for new supply. This will become operative on the 7 December 2024 for a maximum period of 18 months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 8 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Backwell Common, Backwell, North Somerset

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2024

Date coming into force: 19 November 2024 - Ref: SW24.25-130

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road. This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd for structural examination of the bridge. This will become operative on the 19 November 2024 for a maximum period of 18 months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 1 night in duration between 9pm and 5am. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Pound Lane, Nailsea North Somerset

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles and Cyclists

Date coming into force: 28 October 2024 - Ref: T24-40

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles and cyclists the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice.

This order is required because of carriageway resurfacing works and will become operative on 28 October 2024, anticipated to be of 5 days in duration between 8am and 5pm. The maximum period for the closures is 18 months, however, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works.

Schedule - Pound Lane from its junction with B3130 Clevedon Road to outside property boundary number 65 Pound Lane.

Alternative routes - Pound Lane - Pound Lane (part unaffected), Fosse Way, Silver Street, Stock Way North, Clevedon Road and vice-versa

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

Moving Traffic Restrictions, North Somerset

Consolidation Order 2024 - Ref: DRB/2414/2024

Notice is hereby given that on the 19 September 2024 North Somerset Council made the following order in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The general effect of the order shall be to consolidate all moving traffic regulation orders into one order which is called the North Somerset Council (Moving Traffic Restrictions, North Somerset) Consolidation Order 2024.

The order will come into operation on the 27 September 2024 and copies of the order may be inspected by appointment at North Somerset Council, Castlewood, Tickenham Road, Clevedon BS21 6FW. Any person who desires to question the validity of, or of any provision contained in the order on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, or on the grounds that any of the relevant requirements of that Act has not been complied with in relation to the order, may within 6 weeks after the date on which the order was made, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
