A197 MORPETH ROAD ASHINGTON
(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council intends to make an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular traffic on that section of the A197 Morpeth Road Ashington from its junction with High Market heading west for a distance of 100 metres in the County of Northumberland.
The Order is to be effective from the 14th October 2024 until the 14th April 2025.
It is expected that the road will only be closed from the 21st October 2024 until the 24th October 2024 between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00 during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 14th April 2025.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via the A1068, A196, A197 and vice versa.

The closure has been requested by Northumberland County Council to install raised tables and carriageway resurfacing works. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
