Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close and restrict part of the C226 Whitminster Lane from outside the property known as 'Packthorne Cottages' to outside the property known as 'Sandfurlong' for a distance of approximately 880 metres. The reason for the closure and restriction is for works to install underground cables.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF FOOTPATH MBL 138 (BISLEY WITH LYPIATT PARISH) STROUD DISTRICT

NOTICE is hereby given that the Secretary of State for Transport has extended the Order to close temporarily under Sections 14, 15 and 16 of

the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 (as amended) part of Public Footpath MBL 138 from its junction with MBL 139 and then extending in a

generally southerly direction for approximately 120 metres to its junction with MBL 143 and MBL 136.

The footpath falls within the Parish of Bisley with Lypiatt in the Stroud District, in the County of Gloucestershire.

The closure is necessary to safeguard the public whilst building works are completed.

This temporary closure Order came into force on the 7th May 2024 and it was anticipated that the path would remain closed until

7th November 2024. However, works have still not been completed, and the Secretary of State has granted an extension of the closure until

7th November 2025 or until the works are complete, whichever is earliest.
