What is happening?

NORTH NORTHAMPTONSHIRE COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14
(PUBLIC FOOTPATH UL27 – WELLINGBOROUGH & PUBLIC FOOTPATH UM8 – FINEDON) (TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2024 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that North Northamptonshire Council have made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit pedestrians from proceeding along those lengths of Public Footpath UL27 in Wellingborough and Public Footpath UM8 in Finedon as specified below. Private access to land or premises adjacent to the said lengths of footpaths are unaffected.

RIGHT OF WAY TO WHICH RESTRICTION APPLIES: The existing route to be closed begins at point A at National Grid Reference (‘NGR’) SP9027 6839, off Mill Road Wellingborough.
The route travels generally north east along UL27 to the parish boundary with Finedon where it continues as footpath UM8 for a total distance of approximately 1100 metres to point B at NGR SP9132 6872.

The route is shown by a solid black line between points A - B.

REASONS FOR RESTRICTION: The restriction is required in the interest of public safety during construction works.

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: The Order will come into effect on 1st October 2024 and will continue in force for a period of six months. An application may be made for the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport for this Order to be extended if this proves necessary.  However, the restriction specified will have effect only at such times and to such extent as is indicated by the display of notices.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: There is no suitable alternative route.
