A3(M) MOTORWAY AND A3 TRUNK ROAD – BERELANDS INTERCHANGE TO JUNCTION 2 TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that National Highways
Limited has made an Order on the A3(M)
Motorway and A3 Trunk Round in the County of
Hampshire, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road. The effect of the Order is to authorise total weekend closures of:-
i) the coastbound carriageway of the A3(M) and A3 between Berelands Interchange
(A272) and Junction 2 (B2149); ii) all the slip roads leading to and from said length of carriageway;
iii) all side roads at junction with said length of carriageway; and
iv) all lay-bys adjacent to said length of carriageway. These measures are in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake carriageway works and all associated works.
It is expected that the work will last for approximately 1 month starting on or after Friday 4th October 2024. The weekend closures will take place between 21:00 on the Friday and 06:00 on the Monday (maximum period). Please consult National Highways website for further details. The Order will come into force on 2nd October 2024 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months, ceasing when the works are complete.
Traffic affected by the closures will be diverted using the A272, A32, A27, A3 and B2149.
The temporary closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
