Essex - Multiple Traffic Notices, Temporary Road Closures and Clearway Introduction

What is happening?

Essex County Council

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Queens Road, Wivenhoe in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Park Road for a distance of approximately 40m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 30th September 2024 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MT00110237801 - Affinity Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while stop tap and boundary box fitting works are undertaken by Affinity Water.

An alternative route is available via Park Road, Rebow Road, High Street and vice versa (with access only into Queens Road).

The Order came into effect on 12th September 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Smythes Green, Layer Marney)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Smythes Green, Layer Marney in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 50m south east of its junction with Maldon Road for a distance of approximately 30m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 30th September 2024 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD01310744604 - Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while supply replacement works are undertaken by Anglian Water.

An alternative route is available via Maldon Road, Colchester Road, Maypole Road, Church Road and vice versa (with access only into Smythes Green, Clears Road, Newbridge Road, Chapel Road).

The Order came into effect on 12th September 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Straight Road, Boxted)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Straight Road, Boxted in the City of Colchester, from its junction with East Side to its junction with Hobbs Drive a distance of approximately 530m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 30th September 2024 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2368018 - Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while drainage and ironworks replacement works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via Straight Road, Dedham Road, Ipswich Road, A12, Cuckoo Farm Way, Axial Way, Via Urbis Romanae, Northern Approach Road, Nayland Road Roundabout, Boxted Road and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 12th September 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Turkey Cock Lane, Stanway)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Turkey Cock Lane, Stanway in the City of Colchester, from its junction with London Road for a distance of approximately 50m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 1st October 2024 for 4 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AZ7011001357710 - Cadent). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new gas connection works are undertaken by Cadent.

Alternative routes are available via:

1. Halstead Road, Halstead Road Roundabout, A1124 Halstead Road Southbound, Halstead Road Roundabout, Essex Yeomanry Way Southbound, Western Approach, London Road (with access only into Turkey Cock Lane, Seven Star Green).

2. London Road, Western Approach, Essex Yeomanry Way Northbound, Halstead Road Roundabout, A1124 Halstead Road Northbound, Halstead Road Roundabout, Halstead Road (with access only into Turkey Cock Lane, Seven Star Green).

The Order came into effect on 12th September 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Various Roads, District of Tendring)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) (SW1) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close those lengths of road in the District of Tendring as specified in the Schedule.

2. A temporary 'No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping' restriction will be introduced on both sides of the carriageway on the above lengths of road, for the duration of the closures to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.

3. To temporarily introduce a 30mph speed restriction in the lengths of road as specified in the schedule.

"The Essex County Council (Tendring District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019" will be temporarily amended to include the temporary 'No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time" restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of roads only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.

The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 12th September 2024 exact dates will be specified on one.network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road.

Description: From its junction with St Marys Road for a distance of approximately 265m in a south easterly direction

Alternative Route: St Marys Road, Colles Brook Road, South Heath Road, Dead Lane, Holly Bush Hill, Clacton Road, Station Road, Great Bentley Road, Thorrington Road and vice versa (with access only into Plough Road and Weeley Road)
