THE M6 MOTORWAY (JUNCTION 39 EXIT AND ENTRY SLIP ROADS) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company No. 09346363) has made an Order on the M6 Motorway, in the Unitary Authority of Westmorland and Furness, in the County of Cumbria, to enable resurfacing works in connection with the local authority to be carried out in safety. The Order will ban all traffic from the following sections of the M6 Motorway:
i. the northbound exit and entry slip roads at J39;
ii. the southbound exit and entry slip roads at J39.
Prohibitions i.-ii. are expected to be in place during a continuous period starting at 07:00 on Monday 7 October 2024 and ending at 18:00 on Friday 11 October 2024. However, works may start and continue during subsequent continuous periods or until completed. Diversion routes via alternative junctions of the M6 Motorway and local roads will be well signed for all traffic.
The prohibitions will not apply to emergency services or works vehicles and will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall be indicated by traffic signs. The Order comes into force on 6 October 2024 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months. For further information contact sam.smith@nationalhighways.co.uk
