What is happening?

DARLINGTON BOROUGH COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS (AMENDMENT NO.6) ORDER 2024

Notice is hereby given that Darlington Borough Council has made the above named Order under Sections 1, 2, 4 and 84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of the Traffic Management Act 2004. The effect of the Order, which comes into operation on the 23rd September 2024, will be to amend the Darlington Borough Council (Moving Traffic) Consolidation Order 2019 as follows:

1. Amend that part of Darlington Road, Heighington to which the 30mph speed limit applies

2. Introduce 40mph speed limits to parts of the following roads:

Bishopton Lane; Bishopton to Whinny Hill; C34a, C38 Great Stainton to C37 Bishopton; C37 Bishopton North to Boundary; C46 Elstob Lane junction to C37; Coatsay Moor Lane; Croft Road; Darlington Road, Heighington; Dibdale Road; Hill House Lane; Hurworth Road, Neasham; Neasham Hill, Neasham; Neasham Road, Hurworth Moor; Neasham Road, Middleton St George; Norton Road; Norton Back Lane; Redworth Road, Heighington; St George Way; Stockton Road, Darlington; Stockton Road, Sadberge; Tees View, Hurworth; Teesway; The Green, Bishopton. DARLINGTON BOROUGH COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS (AMENDMENT NO.7) ORDER 2024

Notice is hereby given that Darlington Borough Council has made the above named Order under Sections 1 and 2 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of the Traffic Management Act 2004. The Order amends the Darlington Borough Council (Moving Traffic) Consolidation Order 2019 and makes permanent from the 23rd September 2024 the following restriction which has been in operation on an experimental basis since the 29th January 2024:

No person shall cause a vehicle to enter the eastern leg of Hillhouse Lane between Hillhouse Lane and South View/Stainton View, Sadberge from the north end. Copies of the notices and Orders may be viewed at www.darlington.gov.uk/transport-and-streets/traffic-regulation-orders-and-consultations If you wish to question the validity of either Order or any provision of them on the grounds that it is not within the power of the relevant section of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or of any requirement of that Act or any enactment made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order you may within six weeks from the date of this notice apply to the High Court for this purpose.
