What is happening?

The Nottinghamshire County Council

(B684 Mapperley Plains, Mapperley, And Woodborough Lane, Arnold) (Temporary Prohibition Of Proceeding) Order 2024 (G24-130)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Mapperley and Arnold in the Borough of Gedling The effects of the Order will be:

1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road 

a. B684 Mapperley Plains, Mapperley - From its junction with Coppice Lane to its junction with Nottingham Road, Woodborough.

b. B684 Woodborough Lane, Mapperley - From its junction with Nottingham Road, Woodborough to its junction with Georges Lane, Arnold

2. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.

3. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.

IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows: From 20:00 hours until 04:00 hours only From Tuesday 7th October until Friday 11th October 2024 inclusive.

AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be: Coppice Road - Calverton Road - Calverton Lane - George’s Lane - Main Street - Bonner Hill - Foxwood Lane - Main Street - Lingwood Lane - Green Lane - Church Street - Main Street - Spring Lane and vice versa.

The Order will come into force on 7th October 2024 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months)

The prohibition is required to enable Via East Midlands on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council to carry out works to refresh road markings and cats eyes.
