Westmorland and Furness - Multiple Temporary Traffic Restrictions due to Works

WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL

(VARIOUS ROADS IN WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS)

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) (NO. 17) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out ("the Works"), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to;

(i) Prohibit any vehicle from waiting at any time, on any day and/or from loading and unloading, at any time, on any day (including blue badge holders) along that section of the A685 Appleby Road, Kendal from a point approx. 60m north east of its junction with Crescent Green extending in a north easterly direction for a distance approx. 65m.

Duration: From 28th October 2024 for approx. 1 day (Ref: TTROW/12074)

(ii) Prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the lengths of road specified in the attached Schedule.

Suitable diversion routes will be indicated on site by the display of relevant traffic signs as and when the temporary closures are in force. A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

The Order will come into operation on 10th October 2024 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required for 1 month and only as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.

SCHEDULE EXTENT OF RESTRICTIONS AND ALTERNATIVE ROUTES

1. U690 Captain French Lane, Kendal - From 27th October 2024 for approx. 1 day (Ref: TTROW/11930)

From its junction with East View extending in a south easterly direction for a distance approx. 100m.

Alternative Route Eastbound Traffic: via the unrestricted sections of Captain French Lane, Gillingate and Highgate.

Alternative Route Westbound Traffic: via the unrestricted sections of Captain French Lane, Highgate, Allhallows Lane, Beast Banks, Brigsteer Road and Bankfield Road.

N.B to facilitate the alternative route detailed above the one-way restriction on Captain French Lane will be temporarily suspended, from its junction with Highgate extending in a westerly direction for approx. 270m.

2. U578 Glebe Road, Kendal - From 3rd November 2024 for approx. 1 day (Ref: TTROW/12003)

From its junction with the A6 extending in a north westerly direction to its junction with Kirkbarrow.

Alternative Route Westbound Traffic: via the unrestricted sections of Glebe Road, Anchorite Fields, Gillinggate and A6.

Alternative Route Eastbound Traffic: via the A6 (Highgate), A65 (New Road, Stramongate, Blackhall Road and Aynam Road).

3. U5365 Nook - From 4th November 2024 for approx. 2 days (Ref: TTROW/12008)

From its junction with the A65 extending in a northerly direction for a distance approx. 60m.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of U5365, U5370 and A65.

4. U5226 Grasmere - From 4th November 2024 for approx. 1 week (Ref: TTROW/12033)

From its junction with the A591 extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 40m.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of U5226 and A591.

5. U808 Low Fellside, Kendal - From 4th November 2024 for approx. 1 day (Ref: TTROW/12036)

From a point approx. 220m south east of its junction with Serpentine Road extending in a south easterly direction for a distance approx. 40m.

There is no suitable alternative route available.

6. C5059 Lowgate, Levens - From 10th October 2024 for approx. 1day (Ref: TTROW/11812)

From its junction with Main Street extending in a south westerly direction for a distance approx. 90m.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of Lowgate, Church Road, A590, C5076 (Whitegate) and Brigsteer Road.

7. U5615 Levens Lane and Hutton Lane, Levens - From 10th October 2024 for approx. 1 day (Ref: TTROW/11812)

From its junction with Main Street extending in a north westerly direction for a distance approx. 85m.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of Hutton Lane, Brigsteer Road and Main Street.
