Heart of Midlothian FC fixtures at Tynecastle Stadium, Edinburgh - Temporary Traffic Restrictions

(TEMPORARY ROAD RESTRICTION AND TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2024 – TEMP/24/178

The Council has made an order under the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be that for a temporary period, to facilitate public safety and the safe ingress/egress of spectators during Heart of Midlothian FC fixtures at Tynecastle Stadium, Edinburgh, no person shall: (a) drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle on the roads specified in Sch 1, where closures apply to roads in their entirety unless otherwise stated; (b) cause or permit any motor vehicle to enter, proceed or wait in or on any parts of the roads specified in Sch 2; (c) except with the permission of a Parking Attendant, cause or permit any vehicle to wait on the parts of the roads specified in Sch 3; & (d) except with the permission of a Parking Attendant, cause or permit any vehicle to wait or load onto or unload from any vehicle on the roads specified in Sch 4, where prohibitions apply to both sides of the roads in their entirety unless otherwise stated, with the exception of event vehicles which are parked under Police direction. Existing restrictions may be suspended on the affected sections of roads described in Sch 4.

The Greenways Order 1997 will be suspended in so far as the no stopping restrictions & loading bays on the section of Gorgie Rd described in Sch 4 are affected by this Order. ‘The City of Edinburgh (Roseburn Street & Russell Road) (Temporary Road Restriction and Traffic Regulation) Order 2024’ will be suspended on 19/10/24 & 30/10/24 respectively to allow for match day restrictions to be implemented. The alternative route for vehicular traffic is via Roseburn St, Westfield Rd & Gorgie Rd. The order shall have effect during the hours and on the dates specified in the Schedules.

SCHEDULE 1 ROAD CLOSURES:

(A) between 11:00hrs & 12:00hrs; & between 14:00hrs & 15:00hrs on 26/12/24;

(B) between 13:30hrs & 15:00hrs; & between 16:30hrs & 17:30hrs on: 23/11/24 & 15/02/25;

(C) between 14:00hrs & 15:00hrs; & between 16:30hrs & 17:30hrs on: 28/09/24, 19/10/24, 30/11/24, 07/12/24, 21/12/24, 02/01/25, 25/01/25, 15/03/25 & 05/04/25; &

(D) between 18:45hrs & 19:45hrs; & between 21:15hrs & 22:15hrs on: 30/10/24 & 26/02/25 on McLeod St;

(E) between 11:30hrs & 12:30hrs; & between 14:00hrs & 15:00hrs on 26/12/24;

(F) between 14:00hrs & 15:00hrs; & between 16:30hrs & 17:30 hrs on: 28/09/24, 19/10/24, 23/11/24, 30/11/24, 07/12/24, 21/12/24, 02/01/25, 25/01/25, 15/02/25, 15/03/25 & 05/04/25; &

(G) between 18:45hrs & 19:45hrs; & between 21:15hrs & 22:15hrs on: 30/10/24 & 26/02/25 on: (i) Wheatfield Pl, from Smithfield St to Wheatfield St; & (ii) Wheatfield St, from Wheatfield Pl to Wheatfield Ter.

SCHEDULE 2 PROHIBITION OF MOTOR VEHICLES:

(A) between 11:30hrs & 12:30hrs; & between 14:00hrs & 15:00hrs on 26/12/24;

(B) between 14:00hrs & 15:00hrs; & between 16:30hrs & 17:30hrs on: 28/09/24, 19/10/24, 23/11/24, 30/11/24, 07/12/24, 21/12/24, 02/01/25, 25/01/25, 15/02/25, 15/03/25 & 05/04/25; &

(C) between 18:45hrs & 19:45hrs; & between 21:15hrs & 22:15hrs on: 30/10/24 & 26/02/25 on: (i) Russell Rd, in its entirety (except event coaches); & (ii) Murieston Cres, from Russell Rd to Murieston Pl.

SCHEDULE 3 RESTRICTION ON WAITING:

(A) between 09:30hrs & 15:00hrs on 26/12/24;

(B) between 10:00hrs & 17:30hrs on: 23/11/24 & 15/02/25;

(C) between 12:00hrs & 17:30hrs on: 28/09/24, 19/10/24, 30/11/24, 07/12/24, 21/12/24, 02/01/25, 25/01/25, 15/03/25 & 05/04/25; &

(D) between 16:45hrs & 22:15hrs on: 30/10/24 & 26/02/25 on Wheatfield Pl: (1) nth side, from its jnct with Wheatfield Rd, eastwards for 100m (to the Distillery Gate) (except disabled person’s blue badge holders); & (2) sth side, from the eastern kerbline of Smithfield St, eastwards for 50m (except disabled person’s blue badge holders).

SCHEDULE 4 PROHIBITION OF WAITING, LOADING & UNLOADING:

(A) between 09:30hrs & 15:00hrs on 26/12/24;

(B) between 10:00hrs & 17:30hrs on: 23/11/24 & 15/02/25;

(C) between 12:00hrs & 17:30hrs on: 28/09/24, 19/10/24, 30/11/24, 07/12/24, 21/12/24, 02/01/25, 25/01/25, 15/03/25 & 05/04/25; &

(D) between 16:45hrs & 22:15hrs on: 30/10/24 & 26/02/25 on: (i) Gorgie Rd, nth side, from McLeod St to Wheatfield St; (ii) McLeod St; (iii) Tynecastle Ter; (iv) Westfield Rd, nth side, from the western kerbline of Roseburn St, south-westwards for 198m; (v) Wheatfield Pl: (1) nth side, from 100m east of its jnct with Westfield Rd, eastwards to its jnct with Wheatfield St; & (2) sth side, from 50m east of the eastern kerbline of Smithfield St, eastwards to the western kerbline of Wheatfield St; & (vi) Wheatfield St: (1) east side, in its entirety; & (2) west side, from Wheatfield Pl to Wheatfield Ter;

(E) between 09:30hrs & 15:00hrs on 26/12/24 on Russell Rd, both sides, from the southern kerbline of Sauchiebank, southwards for 142m;

(F) between 10:00hrs & 17:30hrs on: 23/11/24 & 15/02/25 on Russell Rd: (1) east side, in its entirety; (2) west side, from the northern kerbline of McLeod St, northwards for 400m; &

(G) between 12:00hrs & 17:30hrs on: 28/09/24, 19/10/24, 30/11/24, 07/12/24, 21/12/24, 02/01/25, 25/01/25, 15/03/25 & 05/04/25; &
