THE LEICESTER (LONDON ROAD RAIN GARDEN) (TEMPORARY) TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Leicester City Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be, for the following anticipated period of time to:

Prohibit the movement of all vehicles in a south-eastbound direction on London Road, except the bus gate, between a point 20 metres south-east of its junction with Station Street and a point 75 metres south-east thereof from 9.30am on Monday 7th October 2024 until 3.00pm on Friday 18th October 2024, and from 7.00am on Monday 21st October 2024 until 3.00pm on Friday 25th October 2024.

Diversion route: London Road (bus gate) Suspend existing bus gate on London Road between a point 20 metres south-east of its junction with Station Street and a point 75 metres south-east thereof from 9.30am on Monday 7th October 2024 until 3.00pm on Friday 18th October 2024, and from 7.00am on Monday 21st October 2024 until 3.00pm on Friday 25th October 2024.

This order is necessary to facilitate the installation of a rain garden taking place and to prevent the likelihood of danger to the public.

This Order will come into effect on the 7th of October 2024 and will continue in force for up to 18 months, or until the order is no longer deemed necessary, whichever is the earlier.

Emergency access will be maintained at all times.
