WIGAN COUNCIL

(Bryn Road South/Alexandra Road Ashton In Makerfield)

(Prohibition of Waiting and Loading) Order 2024

Notice of Proposals

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Wigan Borough Council, in exercise of the powers under Section 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Traffic Management Act 2004 and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act 1984, proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Decriminalisation of Parking) (Various Roads in Wigan Borough) (Traffic Regulation Consolidation) Order 2004 (Amendment No.590) Order 2024

The effect of the Order will be to introduce no waiting at any time on:

•   Alexandra Road Ashton  – both sides from its junction with Bryn Road South to a point 15 metres west of its junction with Bryn Road South

•   Bryn Road South, Ashton – west side from a point 15 metres north of its junction with Alexandra Road to a point 15 metres south of its junction with Alexandra Road

The effect of the Order will be to introduce no loading at any time on:

•   Bryn Road South, Ashton – west side from a point 15 metres north of its junction with Alexandra Road to a point 15 metres south of its junction with Alexandra Road

•   Alexandra Road Ashton – both sides from its junction with Bryn Road South to a point 15 metres west of its junction with Bryn Road South There will be limited exceptions for the purpose of building and similar operations, removing road works and works by statutory undertakers; for local authority, Water Companies; if the vehicles are fire service or police vehicles or ambulances, (liveried vehicles) or in connection with a funeral or the avoidance of an accident.

The Order also provides that if any vehicle is left in any road or length of road affected by the Order in contravention of any provision of the Order a penalty charge (in the amount set by the Council) shall be payable and/or the vehicle may be removed.

A copy of the proposed Order, the Order to be amended, and of the relevant map and of a statement of the reasons for proposing to make the Order may be requested by emailing d.rumsey@wigan.gov.uk.

Any objection to the Order must be made in writing and specify the grounds thereof and must be made to the Assistant Director – Legal, Governance and Elections, Town Hall, Library Street, Wigan or by emailing the above email address quoting reference RD/LS/DC/C108/1068 not later than 22/10/2024.

(Woodcock Drive Platt Bridge Wigan)

(Temporary Closure) Order 2024 Notice of Proposals

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of the Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Woodcock Drive Platt Bridge Wigan) (Temporary Closure) Order 2024.

The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in Woodcock Drive Platt Bridge Wigan during the period of nine days commencing on 19 /10/2024 to  27/10/2024.

Access will be maintained where possible.

The Order is necessary to allow PMV major service.

(Cranstal Drive Hindley Green Wigan)

(Temporary Closure) Order 2024 Notice of Making

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council has made the Wigan Borough (Cranstal Drive Hindley Green Wigan) (Temporary Closure) Order 2024. The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in Cranstal Drive Hindley Green Wigan during the period of 09:00 and 14:30 on 13/11/2024.

The alternative route for traffic is: Long Lane and Alder Lane.

The Order is necessary to allow BT Openreach pole testing.

(Bryn Road South Ashton In Makerfield)

(Temporary Closure) Order 2024 Notice of Making

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council has made the Wigan Borough (Bryn Road South Ashton in Makerfield) (Temporary Closure) Order 2024. The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in Bryn Road South Ashton in Makerfield during the period of 12:00 and 15:00 on03/10/2024.

The alternative route for traffic is: Bolton Road, Wigan Road and Alexandra Road.

The Order is necessary to allow a frame and cover replacement.
