NOTICE OF TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDERS 2024
Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, intend to make an order the effect of which:
Gloucester Street, Weston-super-Mare, North Somerset
Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles &
Revocation of One-Way Order 2024
Date coming into force: 8 October 2024 - Ref: SW24.25-154
Will be to restrict, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.
This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Bristol Water to rectify sunken carriageway after leak. This will become operative on the 8 October 2024 for a maximum period of 18 months. However, the restrictions may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 2 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2024
Date coming into force: 21 October 2024 - Ref: SW24.25-145
Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.
This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by North Somerset Council for tunnelling works with an open excavation across the road. This will become operative on the 21 October 2024 for a maximum period of 18 months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 19 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Wessex Water to Replace cover. This will become operative on the 19 November 2024 for a maximum period of 18 months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 2 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Wales & West Utilities to Replace 112m of metallic gas mains. This will become operative on the 18 November 2024 for a maximum period of 18 months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 19 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Bristol Water for a trial hole. This will become operative on the 25 November 2024 for a maximum period of 18 months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 3 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.
This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Wales & West Utilities to replace gas main. This will become operative on the 20 January 2025 for a maximum period of 18 months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 26 days in duration. This order is required because of work being executed on and near the road by North Somerset Council to construct Banwell Bypass including associated investigations, surveys, diversions and other enabling works. North Somerset Council are satisfied that the execution of the works in question will take 24 months. This will become operative on the 30 September 2024 for a maximum period of 24 months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 24 months in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.
This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon increased traffic levels during work by North Somerset Council that requires a prohibition of use by vehicles on Wolvershill Road. This will become operative on the 16 September 2024 for a maximum period of 18 months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 30 weeks in duration. Will be to close, temporarily, to All Users of the Highway the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for works access, works vehicles and people employed in connection with the works activities.
This order was required because of work being executed on and near the road by North Somerset Council to construct Banwell Bypass including associated investigations, surveys, diversions and other enabling works. North Somerset Council are satisfied that the execution of the works in question will take 24 months. This will become operative on the 30 September 2024 for a maximum period of 24 months. Notice of Making Road

20mph Speed Limit Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that on the 12 September 2024, North Somerset Council made the following order in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The general effect of the order shall be to restrict any vehicle exceeding 20 mph & and change to the extents of the existing 30 mph on the lengths of road specified in the Schedule to this Notice.

Any person who desires to question the validity of, or of any provision contained in the order on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, or on the grounds that any of the relevant requirements of that Act has not been complied with in relation to the order, may within six weeks after the date on which the order was made, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
Schedule 1 - Lengths of Road with a 20mph Speed Limit: Main Road from its junction with Oldmixon Road to its junction with Hutton Hill. Hutton Hill from its junction with Main Road to its junction with Vereland Road. Oldmixon Road from its junction with Main Road to its junction with Sutherland Drive.
