Cropwell Road - Temporary Prohibition of Vehicles For Carriageway Patching Works

What is happening?

The Nottinghamshire County Council

(Cropwell Road, Owthorpe) (Temporary Prohibition Of Proceeding) Order 2024 (R24-207)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Owthorpe in the Borough of Rushcliffe. 

The effects of the Order will be:

1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road:

a. Cropwell Road, Owthorpe - From its junction with Park Lane in a southerly direction for 1500 metres

2. Vehicles are prohibited from Waiting, Loading and Unloading (both sides) (at all times) in the following length of road:

a. Cropwell Road, Owthorpe - From its junction with Park Lane in a southerly direction for 1500 metres

3. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.

4. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.

IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows:

From 09:00 hours Friday 4th October 2024 Until 15:30 hours Thursday 17th October 2024 inclusive.

AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be:

Cropwell Road - Kinoulton Lane - Owthorpe Lane - Main Street - Kinoulton Lane - Fosse Way - A606 Roundabout - Melton Road - Cotgrave Road - Plumtree Road - Scimshire Lane -Owthorpe Road - Cotgrave Road - Park
Lane - Cropwell Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into force on 4th October 2024 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out.

The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).

The prohibition is required to enable Via East Midlands on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council to carry out works to carriageway patching works.
