What is happening?

READING BOROUGH COUNCIL

(OXFORD ROAD BUS LANES 1 AND 2) (TEMPORARY ROAD RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2024

Reading Borough Council intends to make an Order in accordance with section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which is to temporarily:

* close Oxford Road between Eaton Place and Lorne Street and Oxford Road between Grovelands Road and Norcot Road. Whilst the closure is in effect all parking restrictions are hereby suspended and a no waiting no loading or unloading parking restriction will be in place.

* suspend one way restriction on Waylen Street.

* suspend the length of the bus/taxi/cycle lane on Oxford Road junction with Bedford Road.

* Suspend the right turn lane into the service road to 733-745 Oxford Road.

If made, the Order will come into force from 3 October - 29 November 2024. Should the works take longer than expected the restrictions wil remain in force until the works are completed with a maximum order duration of 18 months. The Order is necessary in the interest of public safety to allow resurfacing and carriageway improvement works to be carried out. A signed diversion will be in place.

(DENBEIGH PLACE) (TEMPORARY ROAD RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2024

Reading Borough Council intends to make an Order in accordance with section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which is to temporarily close Addison Road, from its junction with Randolph Road to outside 122 Addison Road. Whilst the closure is in effect all parking restrictions are hereby suspended and a no waiting no loading or unloading parking restriction wil be in place. If made, the Order will come into force from 7 October 2024 for 2 days. Should the works take longer than expected the restrictions will remain in force until the works are completed with a maximum order duration of 18 months. The Order is necessary n the interest of public safety to allow culvert strengthening and cleaning works to be carried out. A signed diversion will be in place.

(VARIOUS MINOR ROADS, READING) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURES FOR MICRO ROAD SURFACING) ORDER 2024

Reading Borough Council intends to make an Order in accordance with section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, that the following closures, restrictions and suspension shall be in operation.

1) The lengths of roads as detailed in Schedule 1 will be closed to all traffic as and when required and during the operation of the road closures all parking restrictions will be suspended and a temporary NWAAT parking restriction will be in place.

2) During the operation of the road closures the restrictions as detailed in Schedule 2 shall be suspended.

If made, the Order will commence on 27 September 2024 and is expected to last for 18 months unless extended by the Secretary of State for Transport.

The Order is necessary to allow carriageway resurfacing works to be carried out. Diversion signing will be in place.

(VARIOUS STREETS) (TEMPORARY ROAD RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2024

Reading Borough Council has made an Order in accordance with section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which are is to close the entire lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to all traffic and suspend all current parking restrictions and introduce a No Waiting No Loading or Unloading at any time restriction. During the operations of the road closures the one way traffic restriction along Belmont Road between its junctions with Oxford Road and Prince of Wales Avenue is hereby suspended. The Order will come into force from 20 September 2024. Should the works take longer than expected the restrictions will remain in force until the works are completed with a maximum order duration of 18 months. The Order is necessary to carry out deep street cleansing works. A signed diversion will be in place.

Belmont Road, Downing Road, Downshire Square, Kings Road -Caversham, Lambourne Close, North Street - Caversham, Queens Road - Caversham, Short Street - Caversham and South Street, Caversham.

(TROOPER POTTS WAY) (TEMPORARY ROAD RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2024

Reading Borough Council has made an Order in accordance with section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to temporarily close the bus gate section along Trooper Potts Way and impose a no right turn from Vastern Road nto Trooper Potts Way. Access along Trooper Potts Way for genera traffic will remain open. The Order will come into force from 23-27 September 2024. Should the works take longer than expected the restrictions will remain in force until the works are completed with a maximum order duration of 18 months. The Order is necessary to facilitate ducting works.
