What is happening?

MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER_ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)

Notice is hereby given that the City Council has made the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s):
ORDER NO. MCC140052864: The City of Manchester (Back Turner Street & High Street, Piccadilly Ward) (Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic & No Waiting No Loading) Order 2024 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Back Turner Street from High Street to Nicholas Croft and on High Street the 3 disabled parking bays after the junction with Back Turner Street. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate installation of Scaffolding, and site compound. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 25th September 2024 to 8th January 2025. The order shall come into operation on 25th September 2024 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. 
ORDER NO. MCC140056794: The City of Manchester (Ducie Street, Piccadilly Ward)(Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic & Closure of Cycle Lane) Order 2024 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Ducie Street from London Road to Dale Street. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate a telecomms works. It is expected that the works will be in progress from on 26th September 2024. The order shall come into operation on 26th September 2024 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Kevin Gillham.
