Cliff Road, East Markham - Temporary Traffic Prohibition

What is happening?

THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(A57 CLIFF GATE, EAST MARKHAM)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2024 (BS24-236)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at East Markham in the District of Bassetlaw

The effects of the Order will be:

1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road:
a. A57 Cliff Road, East Markham – from a point 300 metres West of its junction with Finney Lane for a distance of 1600 metres in a Westerly direction
2. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.
3. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.

IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows:

From 20:00 hours until 05:00 hours only

From Monday 7th October until Saturday 12th October 2024 inclusive.

AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be:

A57 East Markham Baypass, East Markham – A57 Linclon Road, East Markham – A57 Broad Gate, Dalton – A6075 Darlton Road, Darlton – A6075 Darlton Road, Tuxford – A6075 Lincoln Road, Tuxford – A6075 Market Place, Tuxford – A6075 Eldon Street, Tuxford – B1164 Eldon Street, Tuxford – B1164 Retford Road, Tuxford – B1164 Great North Road, West Markham – B1164 Sibthorpe Hill, West Markham – Markham Moor A1 Bridge, East Markham and vice versa

The Order will come into force on Monday 7th October 2024 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).

The prohibition is required to enable Via East Midlands on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council to refresh road markings and cats eyes
