What is happening?

RAISED SPEED TABLE & SPEED CUSHIONS – LEDGER LANE, OUTWOOD

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that The Council of the City of Wakefield, in exercise of powers conferred by Section 90 of the Highways Act 1980, propose to introduce traffic calming measures along Ledger Lane, Outwood, Wakefield.

These proposals are part of the Local Transport Plan initiative to improve road safety for all road users in this area and includes speed cushions and speed table installations at the following locations along Ledger Lane, Outwood between Potovens Lane and Leeds Road:

i. Outside property no. 120 Ledger Lane, 3  Cushions

ii. Outside properties no. 40 and 55 Ledger Lane, Speed Table

The Speed Cushions will be elevated sections of carriageway, 3 metres in length, 1.66 metres wide with a variable height ranging from 65-75mm above the existing carriageway level.

The Speed Table will be an elevated section of carriageway, 4.7 metres in length (featuring a 2.9 metre long plateau with 0.9 metre long approach ramps) with a maximum height of 75mm above the existing carriageway level.
