Wakefield Road, Normanton - Installation of Raised Speed Tables
What is happening?

RAISED SPEED TABLES – WAKEFIELD ROAD, NORMANTON
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that The Council of the City of Wakefield, in exercise of powers conferred by Section 90 of the Highways Act 1980, propose to introduce traffic calming measures along Wakefield Road, Normanton.
These proposals are part of the Local Transport Plan initiative to improve road safety for all road users in this area and include speed cushions and speed table installations at the following locations along Wakefield Road, Normanton between Cambridge Street and Atkinson Court:
i. Wakefield Road, 15 metres south of Cambridge Street, Speed Table
ii. Wakefield Road, 40 metres south of Mill Hill, 3 Cushions
iii. Wakefield Road, 18 metres south of Newland Lane, Speed Table
iv. Wakefield Road, 14 metres south of Church Lane, 3 Cushions
v. Wakefield Road, 13 metres south of Woodview, 3 Cushions
The Speed Cushions will be elevated sections of carriageway, 3.5 metres in length. 1.7m wide with a variable height ranging from 65-75mm above the existing carriageway level.
The Speed Table will be an elevated section of the carriage, 4-6m length(s), range covering the road width with a variable height ranging from 65-75mm above the existing carriageway level.
