What is happening?

THE BOROUGH COUNCIL OF GATESHEAD (SUMMERTIME FESTIVAL EVENT, GATESHEAD STADIUM) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2024

 Notice is hereby given that on 18 September 2024, the Borough Council of Gateshead made an Order under section 21 of the Town Police Clauses Act 1847, the effect of which will be to avoid obstruction of the highway by temporarily prohibiting vehicular traffic as set out in the Schedule to this Notice on 27 September 2024 and 28 September 2024 between the hours of 20:00 and 23:59. The Order is necessary to enable the Summertime Festival at Gateshead Stadium (“the Event”) to take place and to ensure the safety of the public. During the prohibitions there will be signed diversions in place. Emergency service vehicles on duty, vehicles involved in the Event, authorised taxis and Gateshead Council call out operatives on duty will be exempt from the prohibitions.

PROHIBITION OF MOTORISED VEHICLES

Neilson Road

Road Closure to Neilson Road from its junction with A184 Felling Bypass extending in a northerly direction to its junction with Station Road for a distance of 100 metres.

Stadium Road

Road Closure to Stadium Road from its junction with A184 Felling Bypass extending in a northerly and then easterly direction to its

junction with Neilson Road for its entire length.

PART III
PROHIBITION OF WAITING, LOADING AND STOPPING

Location

Description

Stadium Road

The prohibition of waiting, loading and stopping to the northbound/eastbound carriageway of Stadium Road from a point 55 metres north of its junction with the A184 Felling Bypass to its junction with Neilson Road for a distance of 235 metres.

Tyne Main Road

The prohibition of waiting, loading and stopping to the westbound carriageway of Tyne Main Road from the junction with Neilson Road extending in an easterly direction for a distance of 310 metres.
