What is happening?

DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT FOR THE KIRKLEES AREA
KIRKLEES COUNCIL (KIRKBURTON 258 – CARR MOUNT)
DEFINITIVE MAP MODIFICATION ORDER 2024

The above Order, made on the 18 June 2024 was confirmed by Kirklees Council on the 13 September 2024 as an unopposed order.

The effect of the Order is to modify the Definitive Map and Statement for the area by adding a footpath as follows:

A footpath as shown on the Order Map by the broken black line at Carr Mount commencing at its junction with Liley Lane at point A at grid reference SE 1954 1780 and leading southwest for approximately 5 metres to point B at grid reference SE 1954 1780 and leading generally south-southwest for approximately 420 metres to its junction with path no. 20 and path no.10 at point C at grid reference SE 1939 1742 with a variable width of 5.8 metres to 3 metres between points A and B and with a width of 3 metres between points B and C along the metalled track within the area hatched/ edged blue on the Order Map.

A copy of the confirmed Order and the Order Map may also be inspected free of charge at Kirkheaton Library, Fields Rise, Kirkheaton, Huddersfield HD5 0LZ (during normal opening hours). Copies may also be made at standard photocopying rates.

This Order comes into force on the day on which it was confirmed i.e. 13 September 2024 but if any person aggrieved by the Order desires to question its validity, on the grounds that it is not within the powers of Section 53 or 54 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 or that any requirements of Schedule 15 to the Act have not been complied with in relation to it, may within 42 days of this notice make an application to the High Court under paragraph 12 to Schedule 15 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981.
