What is happening?

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT ORDER

THE LONDON BOROUGH OF BARKING AND DAGENHAM (FRESHWATER ROAD, DAGENHAM) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE OF INTENT

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in order to facilitate repairs to fire damaged site, the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham intends to make a Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

2. The order is expected to come in to effect on Thursday 3 October 2024. The works expected for:

  • Repair works to take 54 days to complete. Completion date estimated as Monday 25 November 2024 with the work expected to be undertaken at all times.

However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further works be required.

3. When the works are taking place and the appropriate traffic signs are being displayed the Order will temporarily: -

  • Prohibit all vehicular traffic on Freshwater Road, both sides, from a point in line with the eastern property boundary of No. 39 Freshwater Road to a point 17.5 metres east of the eastern flank wall of Nos. 41-71 Freshwater Road.

4. Alternative routes for Vehicular traffic will be maintained and signed:

  • Via Valence Avenue northbound carriageway, Station Road northbound carriageway, Wangey Road northbound carriageway, High Road (A118) eastbound carriageway and Whalebone Lane South (A1112) southbound carriageway
  • Via Whalebone Lane South (A1112) northbound carriageway, High Road (A118) westbound carriageway, Station Road southbound carriageway, Valence Avenue southbound carriageway
  • Via Valence Avenue southbound carriageway, Green Lane (A1083) eastbound carriageway and Whalebone Lane South (A1112) northbound carriageway and Vice Versa
