What is happening?
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company No. 9346363) has made an order on the A5 Trunk Road, in the County of Shropshire, to allow maintenance and inspection works to be carried out. The effect of the Order will be to close the A5 between its roundabout junction with the B5070 and Station Road, at Gledrid and the England/Wales border, near Chirk. The work will be carried out overnight between 20:00 hours and 06:00 hours and is expected to start on Monday 30 September 2024 and continue for four nights. The Order will come into force on 23 September 2024.
Vehicles being used for police, fire and rescue authority or ambulance purposes or vehicles being used in connection with the works or for winter maintenance purposes will be exempt from the closure. A diversion route via the B5070 and the A5 and vice versa will be signed.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)(A) and (7) THE A5 TRUNK ROAD (NEAR PRESTON, SHROPSHIRE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC IN LAYBY) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company No. 9346363) intends to make an order on the A5 Trunk Road, near Preston, in the County of Shropshire, to enable camera maintenance to be carried out. The effect of the Order will be close the layby adjacent to the westbound carriageway of the A5 approximately 250 metres southeast of its roundabout junction with the A49, near Preston. The work will be carried out over one night between 20:00 and 06:00 hours and is expected to start on Friday 4 October 2024. The Order will come into force on 3 October 2024.
