Brickhouse Lane (D373) Lingfield Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.1) 2024
On 18 September 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of ; (a) Brickhouse Lane (D373) Lingfield as extends from its junction with (D372) Croydon Barn Lane to its junction with (C66) Bones Lane; and (b) Suspend “The Surrey County Council Brickhouse Lane (D373) Lingfield and Church Lane (C72) Godstone Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023” insofar as it affects that length of road specified in Part (a) of this Notice. Alternative Route: Brickhouse Lane, Byers Lane, (A22) Eastbourne Road, (B2028) West Park Road, Bones Lane, and Brickhouse Lane, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate new water connection works for, or on behalf of SES Water. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 5 days, within the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 30 September 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Due to the nature of the works, it will not be possible to maintain vehicular access through the closure, and all vehicular traffic, including the emergency services will be required to use the signed diversion route. No sole access will be affected by this closure.
Keepers Corner (C67) Burstow Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
On 18 September 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Keepers Corner (C67) Burstow as extends from its junction with (B2037) Keepers Corner and (B2037) Effingham Road to its junction with the access to the property known as “Woodcutter Cottage”. Alternative Route: (B2037) Effingham Road, (B2028) West Park Road, (A264) Copthorne Common Road, Borers Arms Road, and Copthorne Bank, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate installation of new telegraph pole works for, or on behalf of I and A Communications. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 day, between the hours of 9.30am and 4pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 01 October 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists.
Various Roads in Tandridge Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.4) 2024
On 18 September 2024 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in; (a) the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice; (b) Suspend “The Surrey County Council Hollow Lane (C91) Dormansland Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024” insofar as it affected that length of road specified in the Schedule of this Notice. This Order is required to facilitate gas mains replacement works for, or on behalf of SGN. These works will be carried out over 10 weeks, in 5 phases, all between the hours of 7am and 6pm, within the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 30 September 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists. In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time, under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period.
Schedule
(1) the entire length of West Street (D415) Dormansland.
Alternative Route: The Platt, High Street, and Dormans Road, or this route in reverse.
(2) that length of Hollow Lane (C91) as extends from its junction with (C90) Plough Road and (C90) High Street to its junction with the access to the property known as “Pines”. Alternative Route: High Street, Mutton Hill, and Hollow Lane, or this route in reverse.
(3) the entire length of Dormans Road (C91) Dormansland.
Alternative Route: Plough Road and (B2028) Racecourse Road, or this route in reverse.
(4) the entire length of Newhache (D495) Dormansland.
There is no alternative route for this closure.
Townpath (T10102) Croydon Road To A22 Caterham Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
On 18 September 2024 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit any person from entering or proceeding on foot or by any other means in the entire length of the Townpath (T10102) Croydon Road To A22 Caterham. Alternative Route: (B2208) Croydon Road, (A22) Wapses Lodge Roundabout, and (A22) Caterham By-pass, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate footway slurry works for, or on behalf of Surrey County Council. These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible, during the 6-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 30 September 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency service vehicles in an emergency situation only, will be maintained at all times, as will access for residents. All other traffic will be required to follow the diversion route.
West Street (A25) Dorking Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
On 18 September 2024 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 15(8)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit vehicles from driving or proceeding in that length of West Street (A25) Dorking as extends from its junction with (A2003) Station Road to its junction with (D2814) North Street. Alternative Route: (A2003) Station Road, (A2003) Chalkpit Lane, (A2003) Ashcombe Road, (A24) London Road, (A24) Deepdene Avenue, (A25) Reigate Road, and (A25) High Street, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to allow mains sewer repair works for, or on behalf of Thames Water. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 6 weeks, between the hours of 8am and 6pm, within 11-month period of operation of this Order which commences on 26 September 2024, and continues in force the provisions introduced by “The Surrey County Council A25 West Street, D2814 Church Street, D2839 Junction Road, A2003 Station Road, A2033 Chalkpit Lane, Dorking Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Notice 2024” issued under Section 14(2) of the Act on 05 September 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for residents, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Due to the nature of the works, all other traffic, including the emergency services will be required to use the signed diversion route.
(Various Roads in the Borough of Reigate and Banstead and the District of Mole Valley) Run Reigate Event (Temporary Traffic Measures) Order 2024
On 18 September 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Order, pursuant to Sections 16A and 16B of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”), which will take effect on 22 September 2024 for one day only, the effect of which will be to prohibit all vehicles from entering or proceeding along the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice or any parts thereof. Such restriction shall also apply in relation to the riding, leading or driving of horses or any other animals. The Order is required to facilitate the holding of 4 on-road running events namely the Run Reigate Half Marathon, 10K Race, 5K Race and Kids Race. The restrictions specified above will not apply to such vehicles being used in connection with the said event, or to anything done on the direction or with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a traffic marshal, or any sign placed by Surrey Police. Emergency access will be maintained for the police, fire brigade and ambulance services and for organisations responsible for dealing with the loss of supplies of gas, electricity, water or electronic communications, to premises in the area and for the removal of any obstruction to traffic. No exemption will apply for disabled persons’ vehicles and all parking places in the lengths of road specified in the Schedule below will be suspended.
The prohibitions herein will only be operative while the relevant traffic signs are displayed. The Council are satisfied that, in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road to which this Order relates, or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising, or for facilitating the passage of vehicular traffic on the road, vehicular access to premises situated in the roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice, or accessible only therefrom, may be restricted, save for emergency access as indicated above. Access for pedestrians will be unaffected. It is anticipated that the temporary closures will take effect from 8am until 2pm, though roads will re-open when it is safe and practical to do so. The Council are also satisfied, in accordance with subsection (3) of Section 16A of the Act, that the event to which the Order relates cannot be held otherwise than on a road.
Alternative routes will be signed and access to Westvale Park will be maintained by suspending the prohibition of turn/entry to and from Webber Street from Meath Green Lane at its northernmost junction, imposed by The Meath Green Lane (D334) and Webber Street Horley (Prohibition of Turn and Entry and Revocation) Order 2022.

Various Roads in Tandridge Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.6) 2024
On 18 September 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the lengths of roads specified and described in the Schedule to this Notice. This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate footway slurry and/or major maintenance works which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 20 September 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access for emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained when safe to do so and if necessary via the signed diversion route.
Schedule
1. the entire length of D1385 Station Road, Whyteleafe.
Alternative Route – D1385 Station Approach, B270 Hillbury Road and A22 Godstone Road;
2. that length of D384 Mid Street, South Nutfield which extends from its junction with Braes Mead to the northern side of the Nutfield Station Railway Bridge (D384/1002).
Alternative Route – D384 Mid Street, D381 Kings Cross Lane, D355 Bower Hill Lane, D355 Sandy Lane and D384 Mid Street;
3. the entire length of D472 Pollards Oak Road, Hurst Green. Alternative Route – D472 Hurstlands, D472 Wolfs Wood, D472 Boulthurst Way and C85 Pollards Wood Road;
4. that length of C227 Whyteleafe Road, Caterham which extends from its junction with Burntwood Lane to its junction with Church Road. Alternative Route – C227 Whyteleafe Road, C227 Salmons Lane West, C218 Buxton Lane, B2030 Town End and B2030 High Street.
B2033 Reigate Road, Leatherhead Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.2) 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the abovementioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of B2033 Reigate Road, Leatherhead that extends from its junction with A24 By-Pass Road, to its junction with C55 Headley Road. This Traffic Order is required to enable South East Groundworks Limited to carry out drainage works in the length of B2033 Reigate Road, Leatherhead that extends from its junction with D2542 Fir Tree Road, for 35m in a north-west direction. These works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 8am and 5pm, within 1 week of the 12 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 14 November 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be required for 24 hours each day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access for pedestrians, and dismounted cyclists and equestrians, will be maintained at all times. Access for emergency services, residents and businesses will be maintained via the vehicular diversion route: - Reigate Road, Headley Road and By-Pass Road.
Ranmore Common Road (C44) Dorking Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Ranmore Common Road (C44) Dorking as extends from its junction with (C43) Critten Lane to its junction with (C44) Ranmore Road. Alternative Route: Ranmore Road, (C132) Station Road, (A2003) Station Road, (A25) West Street, (A25) Westcott Road, (A25) Guildford Road, (A25) Coast Hill, (A25) Guildford Road, White Down Lane, and Critten Lane, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate carriageway surface dressing/pre-patching works for, or on behalf of Surrey County Council. These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible, within the 18-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 14 October 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed; and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times, as will access for emergency service vehicles in an emergency situation only. Vehicular access for residents and businesses will be maintained only when safe to do so, if necessary, via the diversion route.
Wigmore Lane (D298) Beare Green Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the abovementioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of; (a) Wigmore Lane (D298) Beare Green which extends from its junction with Capel By-Pass (A24) to its junction with Horsham Road (C52) and (b) Suspend “The Surrey County Council Wigmore Lane (D298) Beare Green Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023” in its entirety.
Alternative Route – Wigmore Lane (D298), Ockley Road (A29), Horsham Road (C52) and Wigmore Lane (D298) or the same route in reverse.
This Order is required to allow BT Openreach to carry out telecom works, which is anticipated to be completed within 2 days, between 9:30am and 4:00pm, during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 07 October 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access for emergency vehicles, residents, pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. All other vehicular traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route.
Carshalton Road (B278) Woodmansterne Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the abovementioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Carshalton Road (B278) Woodmansterne which extends from its junction with Merrymeet (D1073) to the southeastern property boundary line of “62 Carshalton Road.”
Alternative Route – Carshalton Road (B278), Little Woodcote Lane, Smitham bottom Lane, Woodcote Grove Road, Chipstead Valley Road (B2032), Outwood Lane (B2032), Rectory Lane (B278) and Carshalton Road (B278) or the same route in reverse.
This Order is required to allow BT Openreach to carry out telecom works, which is anticipated to be completed within 1 day, between 8:30am and 3:30pm, during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 11 October 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in force 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access for emergency vehicles, residents, pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. All other vehicular traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route.
