(TEMPORARY FOOTWAY CLOSURE) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council intends to make an Order to prohibit the use by pedestrian traffic on the following sections of footways in Alnwick in the County of Northumberland.
The Order is to be effective from the 8th October 2024 until the 24th December 2024.
U3124 Arkle Court Footways from a point at the front of house number 21 heading southwards for a distance of 32 metres.
There is no alternative route for pedestrian traffic.
It is expected that the footway will only be closed from the 8th October 2024 until the 10th October 2024 between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 24th December 2024.
U3124 Tanners Garth Footway from a point at the front of house number 14 heading northwards and then eastwards for a distance of 47 metres.
The alternative route for pedestrian traffic will be via the U3124 Tanners Garth Footway U3124 Tanners Garth Footway from a point at the front of house number 20 heading eastwards for a distance of 45 metres.
There is no alternative route for pedestrian traffic.
U3124 Tanners Garth Footway from a point at the front of house number 25 heading westwards for a distance of 15 metres.
There is no alternative route for pedestrian traffic.
U3124 Tanners Garth Footway from a point at the front of house number 23 heading southwards and then eastwards for a distance of 25 metres.
The alternative route for pedestrian traffic will be via the U3124 Tanners Garth Footway.
It is expected that the footway will only be closed from the 10th October 2024 until the 14th October 2024 between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 24th December 2024.
Where no diversion route is available, access will be maintained by use of walkboards.

The closure has been requested by Avonline Networks to excavate narrow trenches for the installation of micro-ducts for fibre network. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
