  1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the London Borough of Croydon on the 09 September 2024 made the above-mentioned Orders under Section 6 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 as amended and of all other enabling powers.
  2. (a) The general effect of the Orders will be to make permanent the experimental prohibitions on any motorised vehicle entering the streets/sections of streets listed below during the periods between 8am and 9.30am and 2pm and 4pm, Monday to Friday, with an exemption for those holding a valid permit in relation to the pedestrian zone in that street/section of street, issued by the Council.

(b) The restrictions will not apply to vehicles being used for police, ambulance, or fire service purposes, to liveried vehicles providing a universal postal service or to vehicles in the service of the local authority being used in pursuance of statutory powers or duties.

  • Copies of the Orders, which will come into operation on 13 September 2024, and of the Council’s statement of reasons for proposing the schemes and of the plans which indicate the lengths of road to which the schemes relate, can be inspected from 9am to 4pm on Mondays to Fridays inclusive until the end of six weeks from the date on which the Orders were made, at the "Access Croydon" Facility, Bernard Weatherill House, 8 Mint Walk, Croydon, CR0 1EA. Copies of the Order may also be obtained from the Parking Design Team (parking.design@croydon.gov.uk).
  • Any person desiring to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made there under have not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks of the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.

    ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT, 1984, SECTION 14

    AS AMENDED

    THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991

    AND ALL OTHER ENABLING POWERS

    BEECH ROAD, NORBURY

    TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC

    1. Croydon Council, HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate gas connection works by SGN, they have made an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit vehicular traffic movements Beech Road, Norbury.
    2. Whilst the said works are taking place Beech Road will be closed to vehicles between the common boundaries of No. 3 and 5 Beech Road and Nos. 16 and 18 Beech Road.
    3. During the closure the diversion route for vehicles will be via Norbury Court Road, London Road, Beatrice Avenue and vice versa.
    4. The Order will come into operation on 16 September 2024, and it is anticipated that the work will be carried out within five days. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.

    The restriction shall not apply in respect of:

    (a) any vehicle involved in carrying out the said work.

    (b) any vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes.

    (c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

    THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991

    HILLSIDE ROAD & STONEYLEIGH ROAD, COULSDON

    TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC

    1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate new electrical connection works they have made an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily prohibit vehicular traffic movements in Hillside Road and Stoneyfield Road, Coulsdon.
    2. Whilst the said works are taking place Hillside Road and Stoneyfield Road will be closed at their junctions with Marlpit Lane.
    3. Whilst the closures are in place the alternative routes for traffic will be as detailed below and appropriately signed.
    4. Hillside Road closure – via Hillside Road, Bradmore Way, Tollers Lane, Marlpit Lane/B276, and vice versa.

      Stoneyfield Road closure – via Stoneyfield Road, Coulsdon Road/ B2030, Jubilee Way, Marlpit Lane/B276, and vice versa.

    5. The Order will come into operation on 17 September 2024, and it is anticipated that the works will be completed on 02 October 2024. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required. The prohibitions will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.
    6. The restrictions shall not apply in respect of:

      (a) any vehicle involved in carrying out the said works.

      (b) any vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes.

      (c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

    THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991

    STOATS NEST ROAD, COULSDON

    TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC

    1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate railway bridge inspection works they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict vehicular traffic movements in Stoats Nest Road.
    2. Whilst the said works are taking place Stoats Nest Road will be closed between its junction with Windermere Road and the common boundary of Nos. 31 and 33 Stoats Nest Road.
    3. During the closure the alternative route for traffic will be as detailed below and appropriately signed.

    • Via Stoats Nest Road, Coulsdon Road, Marlpit Lane, Farthing Way and Brighton Road.

  • The restriction shall not apply in respect of:

    (a) a vehicle being used to carry out the said work.

    (b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes.

    (c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

  • The Order will come into operation on 26 September 2024, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed within one night between 10pm and 6am. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.

    TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC

    1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate gas main replacement and services works by SGN, they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict traffic in Westfield Avenue, Court Hill, Copthorne Rise and Hyde Road, South Croydon.
    2. Whilst the said works are taking place the roads below will be closed as detailed.
    3. LOCATION OF CLOSURES

      WESTFIELD AVENUE (WHOLE LENGTH)

      COURT HILL

      (JUNCTION WITH WESTFIELD AVENUE)

      COPTHORNE RISE (WHOLE LENGTH)

      HYDE ROAD (WHOLE LENGTH)

    4. During the closures the alternative routes for traffic will be as detailed below.

    • Westfield Avenue: Via Copthorne Rise, Mitchley Avenue, Rectory Park and vice versa.
    • Court Hill: Via North Down, Purley Downs Road, B269, Rectory Park and vice versa.
    • Copthorne Rise: Via Mitchley Avenue, Rectory Park, Westfield Avenue and vice versa.
    • Hyde Road: Via Rectory Park, Mitchley Avenue, Copthorne Rise, or Rectory Park, Westfield Avenue, Copthorne Rise.

  • The Order will come into operation on 26 September 2024, and it is anticipated that the works will be completed in December 2024. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.
  • The restrictions shall not apply in respect of:

    (a) any vehicle involved in carrying out the said works.

    (b) any vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes.

    (c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

    ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT, 1984 SECTION 14

    AS AMENDED

    THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991

    TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PARKING & PEDESTRIAN TRAFFIC

    WOODVILLE ROAD, THORNTON HEATH

    1. Croydon Council, HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate telecoms duct laying works, they intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily restrict parking and traffic in Woodville Road, Thornton Heath.
    2. Whilst the said works are taking place:

      a) Woodville Road will be closed to vehicular traffic between the common boundaries of Nos. 84 and 86 and Nos. 67 and 69.

      b) The south-eastern footway of Woodville Road will be closed outside No. 92.

      c) Parking will be suspended and waiting and loading restrictions will apply at any time on both sides of the road between the common boundaries of Nos. 53 and 55 and Nos. 73 and 75 Woodville Road, including the disabled parking bay outside No. 63 Woodville Road.

    3. During the closure the alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via Foulsham Road, Luna Road, Milner Road, Natal Road, Woodville Road, and vice versa. Pedestrians affected by the footway closure will be directed to a walkway in the carriageway.
    4. The Order will come into operation on the 26 September 2024, and it is anticipated that the works will be completed within two days. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required. The prohibitions will only apply during such times and to such extents as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.
    5. These restrictions shall not apply in respect of:

      (a) A vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes.

      (b) Any vehicle or pedestrian involved in the said works.

      (c) Anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.
