NOTICE OF MAKING – (Various Traffic Movements) (Various Roads) (Consolidation) Order 2022 (Amendment No.2) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that on 11th September 2024 Cheshire East Borough Council made an Order under Sections 1, 2,3,4,19,65,(1)and 124 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and all other enabling powers and in accordance with its duty under Section 122 of the said Act.
The effect of the Order, which will come into operation on 18th September 2024, will be to:
a) Amend the Cheshire East Borough Council (Various Traffic Movements) (Various Roads) (Consolidation) Order 2022 by introducing a No Right Turn for Vehicular Traffic as outlined in Schedule 1 below and adding Map Tile No. DB106, in the Consolidation Order schedules.

A copy of the Order; a map showing the restricted areas; a statement of reasons for making the Order, a copy of this public notice and a copy of the public notice of the proposal to make the order are available to view at: bit.ly/2RR0UkD or, if you do not have access to the internet, please contact 0300 123 5020 for further details or to request paper copies.

Any person who desires to question the validity of the Order or any of its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Act, or any requirement of the Act or an instrument made under the Act has not been complied with, that person may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Order is made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.

Prohibition of vehicular traffic turning right out of the Smithy Lane onto A530 Middlewich Road.

NOTICE OF MAKING – SPEED LIMIT ORDER (VARIOUS ROADS) (CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2022 (AMENDMENT No. 15) ORDER 2024
Notice is hereby given that on 11th September 2024 Cheshire East Borough Council made an Order under Sections 1, 2,4, 32, 35, 38, 45, 46, 51, 53, 61, 81 and 84 and Parts III and IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and all other enabling powers and in accordance with its duty under Section 122 of the said Act.
The effect of the Order, which will come into operation on 18th September 2024, will be to:
a) Amend the Cheshire East Borough Council (Various Roads) (Consolidation) Order 2022 by introducing the additional speed restrictions as outlined in Schedule 1 below and replacing map tiles CZ106 rev 0 with CZ106 rev 1, DA106 rev 0 with DA106 rev 1, DB106 rev 0 with DB106 rev 1, DC106 rev 0 with DC106 rev 1, DC107 rev 0 with DC107 rev 1, DD106 rev 0 with DD106 rev 1, DE106 rev 0 with DE106 rev 1 and adding map tiles CZ107 rev 0, DA107 rev 0, DB107 rev 0 and DD107 rev 0.

A530, Middlewich Road, Crewe
From a point 103m South of the Leighton Hall Roundabout to a point 125m south of the A530 and Flowers Lane traffic signal junction.

SCHEDULE 2 – (30mph Speed Limit)
Brian Palin Way, Crewe
From a point 83m east of its junction with Leighton Hall Roundabout, to a point 131m west of its junction with the Tottys Hall Way Roundabout.

SCHEDULE 3 – (40mph Speed Limit)
A530, Middlewich Road, Crewe
From a point 103m South of Leighton Hall Roundabout to a point 43m North of the Flowers Lane Roundabout.

Brian Palin Way, Crewe
From its junction with A530 Leighton Hall Roundabout for a distance of 83m.

Bob Brown Way
From its junction with A530 Milehouse Roundabout for a distance of 45m.

Smithy Lane, Crewe
From its junction with the A530 for a distance of 17m.

Flowers Lane
From a point 34m northwest of its junction with Fairfield Roundabout, up to the A530 Flowers Lane Roundabout.

Public Rights of Way Notices

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 S15 – TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF PEDESTRIANS
Public Footpath No. 5 Town of Crewe
Notice is hereby given that the Secretary of State for Transport in pursuance of the power conferred upon him by sub-section 15 (5) of the aforementioned Section 15 has approved the Order being extended and continuing in force until 11th September 2025. 
The effect of the Order will be to temporarily prohibit pedestrians on the following:
That length of Public Footpath No. 5 Town of Crewe which commences at the junction with Bridleway No. 34 Crewe at OS grid reference (OSGR) SJ 7232 5646 and runs in a generally north westerly direction for approx. 86 m. to the junction with Herbert Street at OSGR SJ 7224 5649.
The closure is necessary to protect the public from danger while site clearance and associated building works are undertaken.
An alternative route is available on site.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS
Public Footpath No. 16 Parish of Hassall
Notice is hereby given pursuant to the provisions of Section 14 (1) 
(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, that the Cheshire East Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit pedestrians on the following: That Public Footpath No.16 in the parish of Hassall, which commences at its junction with Mill Lane at OS grid reference SJ 7598 5892 and runs in a generally northerly direction to its junction with Hassall BR No.15 at OS grid reference SJ 7623 5896.
The closure is necessary to protect the public from danger posed by a partially collapsed and unsafe bridge.
The closure continues the restriction that came into force on 22 August 2024 and will continue in force for a period not exceeding 6 months, or until the works required on the bridge are completed.
An alternative route is available via Mill Lane and Hassall BR15.
