THE BOROUGH OF WATFORD

(CONTROLLED PARKING ZONES) (CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2023 (KING GEORGE'S AVENUE ZONE T EXTENSION) AMENDMENT NO 5 ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Watford Borough Council, acting as agents for Hertfordshire County Council proposes to make the above-named Order, pursuant to arrangements made under Section 19 of the Local Government Act 2000 and the Local Authorities' Traffic Orders (Procedure) (England) Regulations 2000 with the Borough of Watford, and in exercise of powers conferred on that Council under Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 45, 46, 49, 53, 63 and 124 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act of 1984”) and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the 1984 Act.

The effect of this Order is to:

  • Introduce Controlled Parking Zone measures on King Georges Avenue by including it within the existing Controlled Parking Zone T
  • The area will be within the operational hours of the Controlled Parking Zone T: Mon - Sat 8am - 6.30pm Match days only Mon - Fri 8am - 10pm Sat & Bank Holiday 8am - 6.30pm & Sunday 1.00pm - 6.30pm

A breakdown of the permit charges as of September 2024 is as follows:

Full-time CPZ Residents’ Visitor Permit – short stay£7.35 for 5 permits if 60 years or over
One-hour CPZ Residents’ Visitor Permit£4.00 for 40 permits
Virtual Residents’ Visitor Permit – long stay£31.50 for 25 permits
Virtual Residents’ Visitor Permit – short stay£7.35 for 5 permits if 60 years or over
Virtual Residents’ Visitor Permit – long stay£31.50 for 25 permits
Virtual Residents’ Visitor Permit – short stay£7.35 for 5 permits if 60 years or over
Doctor and Health Visitor Permit£64 per permit; £64 for each additional permit
Virtual Permit allocation for Zone T is as follows:

If you wish to object to this proposal, you can send your objection in writing to the Scheme Project Officer by email to parking@watford.gov.uk or by calling 01923 226400, or by contacting the Project Manager at the address listed below, giving reasons for your objections. The deadline for receipt of objections is Friday 13th September 2024. If you do make an objection, please state the grounds on which it is made and quote reference 2024 Amendment No 5 on all correspondence.
