What is happening?

HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF BENDISH LANE, WHITWELL) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Bendish Lane, Whitwell from its junction with Lilley Bottom Road south westwards to its junction with Cresswick, a distance of approximately 67m ("the Road"), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Lilley Bottom Road, Law Hall Lane, C27 (unnamed road) and Bendish Lane.

The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing utility pole is proposed to be executed near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 27 September 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THE FOOTPATH SITUATED TO THE REAR OF NOS.83-99 SWANSTAND AND THE FOOTPATH SITUATED BETWEEN NO.21 AND NO.22 TOWNLEY, LETCHWORTH GARDEN CITY) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedestrians from using the following lengths of footpath ("the Footpaths"):-

1. the footpath situated to the rear of Nos.83-99 Swanstand, Letchworth Garden City from its junction with Radburn Way north westwards for a distance of approximately 224m.

An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the north west side of Radburn Way, the footpath situated to the rear of Nos.57-71 Townley and the footpath situated on the north west side of Nos.48-56 Townley.

2. the footpath situated between No.21 and No.22 Townley, Letchworth Garden City from its junction with Townley north eastwards for a distance of approximately 84m.

An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the north east side of Townley and the footway situated on the north west side of Radburn Way. The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Footpaths.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 30 September 2024 for a period of up to 6 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Footpaths.

(TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF THE EXISTING 7.5 TONNES WEIGHT RESTRICTION ON A507 CLOTHALL ROAD, BALDOCK/CLOTHALL, A505 (UNNAMED ROAD), RUSHDEN AND A505 BALDOCK ROAD, RUSHDEN/COTTERED) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to temporarily suspend the existing 7.5 tonnes weight restriction on that length of A507 Clothall Road, Baldock/Clothall, A505 (unnamed road), Rushden and A505 Baldock Road, Rushden/Cottered from its northernmost junction with B656 Royston Road south eastwards, north eastwards, south eastwards, north eastwards, south eastwards, eastwards and south westwards to its junction with the A10 Buntingford Bypass/B1038 Baldock Road roundabout, a distance of approximately 13115m ("the length of Roads") to enable all vehicles to use this length of roads whilst works are in progress.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the length of Roads.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 1 October 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the length of Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF BASSUS GREEN, WALKERN) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Bassus Green, Walkern from its junction with Walkern Bury Lane south eastwards, south westwards, south eastwards and south westwards to its junction with Clay End Road, a distance of approximately 1160m ("the Road"), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Bassus Green and Clay End Road.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 30 September 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF VARIOUS ROADS IN STEVENAGE DURING THE 'STEVENAGE CHARTER FAIR') ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 16(A) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads, except for access:-that length of Drapers Way, Stevenage from its junction with High Street south westwards to its junction with Primett Road, a distance of approximately 72m.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles whilst the event takes place. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the event.

that length of Bell Lane, Stevenage from its junction with High Street south westwards for its entire length.

An alternative route will be via A1072 Gunnels Wood Road, A1155 Fairlands Way, A602 Lytton Way and Trinity Road or via Letchmore Road, Sish Lane, Trinity Road, A602 Lytton Way, A1155 Fairlands Way and A1072 Gunnels Wood Road

that length of High Street, Stevenage from its junction with A602 High Street south eastwards to its junction with Trinity Road, a distance of approximately 652m.

An alternative route will be via Trinity Road, A602 Lytton Way, A1155 Fairlands Way and A1072 Gunnels Wood Road or via Letchmore Road, Sish Lane, Trinity Road, A602 Lytton Way, A1155 Fairlands Way and A1072 Gunnels Wood Road The sections of roads will be closed between the hours of 6.00am on Wednesday 22 September 2024 and 4.00am on Wednesday 25 September 2024, when signs are in place.

The purpose of the Order is to ensure public safety and prevent accidents for the duration of the 'Stevenage Charter Fair'.

IN STEVENAGE, WALLINGTON, PRESTON, HOLWELL, BENDISH, KNEBWORTH, PIRTON AND ST IPPOLYTS) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads"), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-

1. the northbound carriageway of A1155 St Georges Way, Stevenage from its junction with the A602 Six Hills Way/Six Hills Way roundabout north eastwards and north westwards to its junction with the A1155 Fairlands Way roundabout, a distance of approximately 635m.

An alternative route will be via A602 (Six Hills Way/Lytton Way) and A1155 Fairlands Way.

2. that length of C10 (unnamed road), Wallington from its junction with The Street south eastwards and north eastwards to its junction with Redhill, a distance of approximately 774m.

An alternative route will be via The Street, Kits Lane, Wallington Road, A505 (Baldock Bypass/Royston Road), C5 (unnamed road) and Redhill.

3. that length of Kits Lane/The Street, Wallington from its junction with Wallington Road north eastwards, south eastwards and north eastwards to its junction with C10 (unnamed road), a distance of approximately 576m.

An alternative route will be via Wallington Road, A505 (Baldock Bypass/ Royston Road), C5 (unnamed road), Redhill and C10 (unnamed road).

4. that length of Hitchin Road, Preston from its junction with School Lane north eastwards to its junction with Preston Road, a distance of approximately 808m.

An alternative route will be via School Lane, Hitchwood Lane, B651 Whitwell Road, B656 London Road, Gosmore Road, Hitchin Road, High Street and Preston Road.

5. that length of Holwell Road, Holwell from its junction with A600 Bedford Road westwards to its junction with Pirton Road, a distance of approximately 1021m.

An alternative route will be via A600 Bedford Road, A505 (Bedford Road/ Paynes Park/ Upper Tilehouse Street), B655 Pirton Road, Hitchin Road, Priors Hill, Shillington Road, West Lane, Holwell Road, Waterloo Lane and Pirton Road or via Pirton Road, Waterloo Lane, Holwell Road, West Lane, Shillington Road, Priors Hill, Hitchin Road, B655 Pirton Road, A505 (Upper Tilehouse Street/Old Park Road/Bedford Road) and A600 Bedford Road.

6. that length of C27 (unnamed road), Bendish from its junction with Whitewaybottom Lane north eastwards, south eastwards and north eastwards to its junction with Bendish Lane, a distance of approximately 1686m.

An alternative route will be via Whitewaybottom Lane, Fox Hill, Luton Road, B652 High Street, B651 (Hitchin Road/Horn Hill), Lilley Bottom Road and Bendish Lane.

7. that length of Hitchwood Lane, Preston from its junction with School Lane south eastwards to its junction with B651 Whitwell Road, a distance of approximately 1297m.

An alternative route will be via School Lane, Hitchin Road, Preston Road, High Street, Hitchin Road, Gosmore Road, B656 London Road and B651 Whitwell Road.

8. that length of Church Lane, Preston from its junction with Back Lane north eastwards to its junction with School Lane, a distance of approximately 304m.

An alternative route will be via Back Lane, Parsonage Lane, Whitehall Road, Lilley Bottom, C25 (unnamed road), Hoo Lane, Kings Walden Road, High Street, Offley Hill, A505 (Offley Bypass/Moormead Hill/Upper Tilehouse Street), A602 Park Way, Gosmore Road, Hitchin Road, Preston Road, Hitchin Road and School Lane.

9. that length of Back Lane, Preston from its junction with Frogmore Bottom Road south eastwards and north eastwards to its junction with Church Lane, a distance of approximately 562m.

An alternative route will be via Back Lane, Parsonage Lane, Whitehall Road, Lilley Bottom, C25 (unnamed road), Hoo Lane, Kings Walden Road, High Street, Offley Hill, A505 (Offley Bypass/Moormead Hill/Upper Tilehouse Street), A602 Park Way, Gosmore Road, Hitchin Road, Preston Road, Hitchin Road, School Lane and Church Lane.

10. that length of Back Lane, Preston from its junction with Parsonage Lane north eastwards and south eastwards to its junction with Frogmore Bottom Road, a distance of approximately 777m.

An alternative route will be via Back Lane, Parsonage Lane, Whitehall Road, Lilley Bottom, C25 (unnamed road), Hoo Lane, Kings Walden Road, High Street, Offley Hill, A505 (Offley Bypass/Moormead Hill/Upper Tilehouse Street), A602 Park Way, Gosmore Road, Hitchin Road, Preston Road, Hitchin Road, School Lane and Church Lane.

11. that length of Rustlings End, Knebworth from its junction with Three Houses Lane north westwards, north eastwards, north westwards and north eastwards to its junction with C29 (unnamed road), a distance of approximately 1928m.

An alternative route will be via Three Houses Lane, B656 (Hitchin Road/ London Road), B651 Whitwell Road, Bullocks Hill and C29 (unnamed road).

12. that length of Shillington Road, Pirton from its junction with Priors Hill south westwards and north westwards for a distance of approximately 2198 m.

An alternative route will be via Shillington Road, West Lane, Howell Road, Waterloo Lane, Pirton Road, Holwell Road, A600 Bedford Road, Station Road, Shillington Road, Marquis Hill, High Road and Shillington Road.

13. that length of Priory End, Hitchin from its junction with B656 Hitchin Hill south eastwards for its entire length.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

14. that length of B656 London Road, St Ippolyts from its junction with Broadmeadow Ride south eastwards to its junction with Waterdell Lane, a distance of approximately 735m.

An alternative route will be via B656 London Road, A602 (Stevenage Road/ Wymondley Bypass/Hitchin Road/Lytton Way/High Street/James Way/ Lytton Way), B197 (London Road/Stevenage Road/London Road/Mardley Hill/ Great North Road) and B656 (Link Road/Codicote Road/High Street/ Hitchin Road/London Road) or B656 (London Road/Hitchin Road/High Street/ Codicote Road/Link Road), B197 (Great North Road/Mardley Hill/London Road/ Stevenage Road/London Road), A602 (Lytton Way/Hitchin Road/ Wymondley Bypass/Stevenage Road) and B656 London Road.

ADDITIONALLY all vehicular traffic is prohibited from being driven at a speed exceeding 20mph on that length of A1155 St Georges Way, Stevenage from its junction with the A602 Six Hills Way/Six Hills Way roundabout north eastwards and north westwards to its junction with the A1155 Fairlands Way roundabout, a distance of approximately 635m, when signs are in place. The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Sperberry Hill, St Ippolyts from a point 98m south east of its junction with Tippendell Lane south eastwards for a distance of approximately 90m ("the Road").

An alternative route will be via Sperberry Hill, B656 London Road, Little Almshoe Lane and Sperberry Hill.

The Order is needed because water connection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 17 September 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Hatch Lane, Weston from its junction with Chalk Hills south westwards and south eastwards to its junction with Fore Street, a distance of approximately 1942m ("the Road"), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Chalk Hills, B197 London Road, A505 Baldock Bypass, B197 Jacks Hill, Lannock Hill, Hitchin Road, Damask Green Road and Fore Street.

ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress. The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads") and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-

1. that length of Lilley Bottom Road, Kings Walden from its junction with 5U35 (unnamed road) north westwards to its junction with Miserable Lane, a distance of approximately 955m.

An alternative route will be via 5U35 (unnamed road) and Miserable Lane.

2. that length of Lilley Bottom Road, Kings Walden from its junction with Miserable Lane north westwards and south westwards to its junction with Lower Road, a distance of approximately 88m.

An alternative route will be via Lilley Bottom Road, Law Hall Lane, C27 (unnamed road), Pasture Lane and Lower Road.

3. that length of Lilley Bottom Road, Kings Walden from its junction with Lower Road north westwards to its junction with Church Road, a distance of approximately 792m.

An alternative route will be via Lower Road, Oxford Road, Chapel Road, Heath Road, The Heath, Darley Road and Church Road.

4. that length of Lilley Bottom Road, Kings Walden from its junction with Church Road north westwards to its junction with Stony Lane, a distance of approximately 1160m.

An alternative route will be via Church Road, Whitehall Road, C25 (unnamed road) and 5U128 (unnamed road).

5. that length of Lilley Bottom, Kings Walden/Lilley from its junction with Stony Lane north westwards to its junction with Chalk Hill, a distance of approximately 1575m.

An alternative route will be via Stony Lane, Brick Kiln Lane and Chalk Hill.

6. that length of Lilley Bottom, Lilley from its junction with Luton White Hill north westwards to its junction with Hollybush Hill, a distance of approximately 295m.

An alternative route will be via Luton White Hill, Luton Road and Hollybush Lane.

7. that length of Luton Road, Kimpton from its junction with Kimpton Road south eastwards to its junction with Fox Hill, a distance of approximately 1170m. An alternative route will be via Kimpton Road, The Green, Chiltern Green Road, Dane Street, Whiteway Bottom, Whitewaybottom Lane and Fox Hill.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 16 September 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.
