The Avenue - Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic

What is happening?

LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(VARIOUS ROADS, BOROUGHS OF FYLDE & WYRE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this Order.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over the lengths of road in the Boroughs of Fylde & Wyre as specified in the Schedule attached to this Order.
2. Nothing in this Order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative nightly from 2200 hours to 0500 hours on Monday 23rd September 2024 until Saturday 28th September 2024 or until completion of the works within this period. The prohibitions will only be operative when indicated on site by the presence of the appropriate traffic signs in accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016. Works are weather dependent and may be carried out on any of the dates specified.
4. Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:
A6 Garstang Bypass Road / A6 Garstang Road / B5269 Woodplumpton Lane / B5269 Newsham Hall Lane / B5269 Moorside Lane / B5269 Lewth Lane / B5269 Carrs Green / B5269 Preston Road / B5269 Lodge Lane / B5269 Thisleton Road / A585 Larbreck Road
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow implementation of a road safety scheme which includes the installation of specialist road studs, refreshing of road markings and alterations to road markings where required to be carried out by LCC Highways.

The following lengths of road in the Boroughs of Fylde & Wyre will be closed nightly between the hours of 2200 and 0500 hours from Monday 23rd September 2024 until Saturday 28th September 2024 to allow the implementation of a road safety scheme.

1. Temporary Road Closures:

Schedule 1: Vehicular access will be maintained, whenever and wherever it is safe to do so, between 2200 hours and 0500 hours.
