What is happening?

WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS IN WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) (NO. 13) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable highway works to be carried out ("the Works"), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists), from proceeding along the lengths of road specified in the attached Schedule.

Suitable diversion routes will be indicated on site by the display of relevant traffic signs as and when the temporary closures are in force.

Westmorland and Furness Highways will ensure that local residents and the general public are informed of which roads are to be closed and when, nearer the time.

The Order will come into operation on 2nd October 2024 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required for as stated in the schedule and only as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.

SCHEDULE

EXTENT OF RESTRICTIONS AND ALTERNATIVE ROUTES

1. A595, Broughton-ln-Furness - From 2nd October 2024 Approx. duration 2 weeks (Ref: TTROW/11694)

From its junction with Smithy Lane, extending in a predominantly south easterly direction for approx. 2 km.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the A595, A5092, A50S4, A593, A591, A66 and the AS086.

2. AS087 Coast Road, Bardsea- From 2nd October 2024 Approx. duration 2 weeks (Ref: TTROW/11692)

From its junction with the C5038, extending in a predominantly south westerly direction for a distance of approx. 6.4 km.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the AS087 (Coast Road), Rampside Road, Roose Road, Friars Lane, Flass Lane, Rating Lane, Abbey Road, Park Road, A590, Hill Fall and Priory Road.

3. AS092, Penny Bridge - From 2nd October 2024 Approx. duration 2 weeks (Ref: TTROW/11695)

From its junction with Oak Vale (C5022), extending in a north westerly direction to its junction with the U5104.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the A5092, A595 and the A590.

4. C5023, Penny Bridge - From 2nd October 2024 Approx. duration 2 weeks (Ref: TTROW/11703)

From its junction with the C5022, extending in an overall south easterly direction to its junction with the A590.

Alternative Route: via the A590, A5092 and the C5022.

5. Alpine Road, Newland - From 2nd October 2024 Approx. duration 2 weeks (Ref: TTROW/11706)

From its junction with Newland Road (A590), extending in a north westerly direction to its junction with the U5119.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the US 106, US 105, C5022, A5092 and the A590.

6. C5010, Grizebeck - From 2nd October 2024 Approx. duration 2 weeks (Ref: TTROW/11710)

From its junction with the C50I I, extending in a south easterly then southerly direction to its junction with the U5075.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the C5010, Grizebeck Brow (A5092) and the C5011.

7. C5031, Gleaston - From 2nd October 2024 Approx. duration 2 weeks (Reft TTROW/11705)

From its junction with the C5032, extending in a south westerly direction for approx 5.1 km. Alternative Route: via the C6005, A5087, C6004, C6010, C6003 and the C5032.
