Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
ASHFORD AREA
A251 FAVERSHAM ROAD, CHALLOCK. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024
To allow tree felling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of A251 Faversham Road, Challock, from 29th September 2024, for up to one day, between the hours of 07.00 and 12.00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction with A252 Canterbury Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic heading anti-clockwise is via A252 Canterbury Road, A252 The Street, A252 Maidstone Road, A252 Canterbury Road, A28 Ashford Road, A28 Thanington Road, A2 Dover Road, A2 Boughton Bypass, A2 Brenley Corner, A2 London Road, A2 Canterbury Road and A251 Ashford Road.
The alternative route for any through traffic heading clockwise is via A251 Ashford Road, A2 Canterbury Road, A2 London Road, A2 Brenley Corner, A2 Boughton Bypass, A2 Dover Road, Harbledown Slip (Eastbound off), Harbledown Bypass, A2050 Rheims Way, A290 Rheims Way, A28 Wincheap Green, A28 Wincheap, A28 Thanington Road, A28 Ashford Road, A252 Canterbury Road, A252 Maidstone Road, A252 The Street and A252 Canterbury Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
BEARS LANE, BETHERSDEN. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2024
To allow resurfacing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Bears Lane, Bethersden, on or after 7th October 2024, for up to 2 days, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of the former Great Chart Golf Club, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Etchden Road, Worten Road, Godinton Lane, Water Fall Road, Park Drive, The Street and Bethersden Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
CHILMINGTON GREEN LANE, GREAT CHART. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2024
To allow connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Chilmington Green Lane, Great Chart, on or after 7th October 2024, with estimated completion by 1st November 2024, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of the entrance to Grange Court, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Chilmington Green Lane, Bartlets Lane and Chilmington Green Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
FROGMORE LANE, BONNINGTON. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2024
To allow maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Frogmore Lane, Bonnington, from 7th October 2024, with estimated completion by 1st November 2024, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from 20m south of Saint Rumwold’s Church, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Frogmore Lane, B2067 Bonnington Road, Newchurch Road, Honey Wood Lane, Frogmore Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
FRONT ROAD, WOODCHURCH, TN26 3SJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2024
To allow utility and maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Front Road, Woodchurch, from 7th October 2024, for up to one day, between the hours of 09.00 and 16.00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junction with Lower Road and the junction with The Paddock, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Front Road, Lower Road, Place Lane, Spot House Lane, Shadoxhurst Road, Bethersden Road and Front Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
HAYMAKERS LANE, SINGLETON, TN23 4GN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024
To allow manhole and frame works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Haymakers Lane, Singleton, from 19.00 hours on 24th September 2024, with estimated completion by 06.00 hours on 25th September 2024, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of number 16, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
HYTHE ROAD, WILLESBOROUGH. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024
To allow street lighting works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Hythe Road, Willesborough, from 23rd September 2024, with estimated completion by 28th September 2024, between the hours of 20.00 and 06.00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction with Lees Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Bad Munstereifel Road, A2070 From M20 J10 Roundabout To J A2042 S, A2070 From J A2042 To M20 J10 Roundabout N, Avocet Way, Bad Munstereifel Slip West Bound Off, Bad Munstereifel Slip West Bound On, A2070 J A2042 Leave N, Romney Marsh Road Roundabout, Romney Marsh Road, Avenue Jacques Faucheux, Beaver Road, Victoria Road, Station Road, Wellesley Road, Mace Lane, Hythe Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
PARK STREET, ASHFORD, TN24 8LF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024
To allow manhole and frame works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Park Street, Ashford, from 22.30 hours on 24th September 2024, with estimated completion by 06.00 hours on 25th September 2024, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Somerset Heights, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.
A marshall will be on site to assist with access and egress of vehicles when possible.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
SHOREHAM LANE, TENTERDEN, TN30 6QA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024
To allow replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Shoreham Lane, Tenterden, from 25th September 2024, for up to one day, between the hours of 10.00 and 16.00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junction with A28 Ashford Road and the junction with Orchard Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Orchard Road, Grange Road and A28 Ashford Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
STONEBRIDGE GREEN ROAD, EGERTON. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024
To allow replacement pole works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Stonebridge Green Road, Egerton, from 24th September 2024, for up to two days, between the hours of 09.00 and 17.00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between ‘Old Orchard’ and ‘The Cottage’, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Coach Road, Egerton House Road, Coldbridge Lane, Crocken Hill Road, Rock Hill Road, The Street, Stonebridge Green Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
SWAN LANE, PLUCKLEY. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024
To allow replacement pole works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Swan Lane, Pluckley, from 24th September 2024, with estimated completion by 25th September 2024, between the hours of 09.00 and 17.00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Sheerland Cottages, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Swan Lane, Little Chart Road, West Street, The Street, Bethersden Road, Pluckley Road, Dowle Street Road, Station Road, Chambers Green Road, Smarden Road and Forge Hill.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
TADWORTH ROAD, ASHFORD, TN24 9LA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024
To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Tadworth Road, Ashford, on or after 23rd September 2024, for up to 5 days, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of number 28, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Tadworth Road, Bybrook Road, Tadworth Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
THE GIVAUDAN ASHFORD 10K ROAD RACE. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2024
To allow the Givaudan Ashford 10K road race to take place, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on various roads in Willesborough, Kennington & Ashford from 13th October 2024, for up to one day, between the hours of 09.20 and 11.20, or until the event has been completed.
The following roads will be closed on a rolling basis as the race progresses, in approximate sequence shown below:-
A2070 Kennington Road, Willesborough will be closed for its entire length.
A2070 Willesborough Road, Kennington will be closed for its entire length.
A28 Canterbury Road, Kennington will be closed between the junctions with A2070 Willesborough Road and The Street.
The Street, Kennington will be closed for its entire length.
Ulley Road, Kennington will be closed between the junctions with The Street and Upper Vicarage Road.
Upper Vicarage Road, Ashford will be closed for its entire length.
A2042 Faversham Road, Ashford will be closed between the junctions with Upper Vicarage Road and A28 Canterbury Road, at Penlee Point.
A28 Canterbury Road, Kennington will be closed between the junctions with A2042 Faversham Road and A28 Simone Weil Avenue.
A2042 Canterbury Road, Ashford will be closed between the junctions with A28 Simone Weil Avenue and Hardinge Road.
A2042 North Street, Ashford will be closed between the junctions with Hardinge Road and A292 Somerset Road.
A292 Somerset Road, Ashford will be closed between the junctions with A2042 North Street and A292 Mace Lane.
A292 Mace Lane, Ashford will be closed for its entire length.
A292 Hythe Road, Ashford will be closed between the junctions with A292 Mace Lane and Lees Road.
Lees Road, Ashford will be closed between the junctions with A292 Hythe Road and Silver Hill Road
Lees Road, Willesborough will be closed for its entire length.
A2070 Kennington Road, Willesborough will be closed between the junctions with Silver Hill Road and A2070 Willesborough Road.
Marshalls will be in place to allow access for emergency service vehicles and to allow managed access to any residents affected when it is safe to do so, but there are likely to be delays and certain times when this is not possible for safety reasons.
