Jesmond Road - Prohibition All vehicles, Pedestrians For Works
What is happening?
CITY OF NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE
(JESMOND ROAD) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2024
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Newcastle upon Tyne intend, not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit all vehicles, pedestrians, and other traffic from proceeding on Jesmond Road between its junctions with Shortridge Terrace and Benton Bank.
2. The alternative route will be signed on site as required.
3. The Order is required to allow works to be carried out on or near the highway.
4. Exemptions will be provided for vehicles and personnel engaged in the works and police, fire brigade and ambulance vehicles on emergency call.
5. The Order will come into operation on 16th October 2024 and will continue, as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed, up to 23rd October 2024 or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is the earlier.
