(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) (NO. 12) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable highway works to be carried out ("the Works"), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists), from proceeding along the lengths of road specified in the attached Schedule.

Suitable diversion routes will be indicated on site by the display of relevant traffic signs as and when the temporary closures are in force.

Westmorland and Furness Highways will ensure that local residents and the general public are informed of which roads are to be closed and when, nearer the time.

The Order will come into operation on 1st October 2024 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as stated in the schedule and only as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.

SCHEDULE EXTENT OF RESTRICTIONS AND ALTERNATIVE ROUTES

1. A685, Grayrigg - From 1st October 2024 for Approx. duration 2 weeks (Ref TTROW/11649) From its junction with the C5069, extending in a north easterly direction for a distance of approx. 1.5km.

Alternative Route for traffic: via the unrestricted sections of the A685, Appleby Road, Sandylands Road, Sedbergh Road, Castle Green Lane, Singleton Fark Road, A684, A683 and Ash Fell Road.

Alternative Route for HGVs: via the unrestricted sections of the A685, Appleby Road, Sandylands Road, Sedbergh Road, Castle Green Lane, Singleton Fark Road, A684 and the M6.

2. A65, Lupton - From 1st October 2024 for Approx. duration 2 weeks (Ref: TTROW/11650) From a point approx. 1km north west of its junction with Hophouse Lane, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 1.2 km.

Alternative Route for traffic: via the unrestricted sections of the A65, A683, A684, Sandylands Road, A685, A65 and the A6.

Alternative Route for HGVs: via the unrestricted sections of the A65, A683, A684 and the M6.

3. A684 Scotch Jeans, Sedbergh - From 1st October 2024 for Approx. duration 2 weeks (Ref: TTROW/11653) From its junction with the B6256, extending in a predominantly north westerly direction for approx. 1.7 km.

Alternative Route for traffic: via the unrestricted sections of the A684, Sandylands Road, A685, A65, A6, A65 and the A683.

Alternative Route for HGVs: via the unrestricted sections of the A684, M6, A65 and the A683.

4. A683, Narthwaite - From 1st October 2024 for Approx. duration 2 weeks (Ref: TTROW/11654) From its junction with the U3416, extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 1.4 km.

Alternative Route for traffic: via the unrestricted sections of the A683, A684, Sandylands Road and the A685.

Alternative Route for HGV's via the unrestricted sections of the A683, A684, M6 and the A685.

5. A592, Troutbeck - From 1st October 2024 for Approx. duration 2 weeks (Ref: TTROW/11655) From its junction with Townhead Brow, extending in a northerly direction for approx. 1.8 km.

Alternative Route for north bound traffic: via the unrestricted sections of the A592, Patterdale Road, Ambleside Road, Lake Road, Wansfell Road, Rothay Road, Compston Road, Rydal Road, A591, A66 and the A5091.

Alternative Route for south bound traffic: via the unrestricted sections of the A592, A5091, A66, A591, Rydal Road, Lake Road, Ambleside Road and Patterdale Road.

6. A591 Ambleside Road, Windermere - From 1st October 2024 for Approx. duration 2 weeks (Ref: TTROW/11656) From its junction with Rayrigg Road, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. I.5 km.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the A591, A590 and the A592.

7. A592, Newby Bridge - From 1st October 2024 for Approx. duration 2 weeks (Ref: TTROW/11662) From its junction with the A590, extending in a north easterly direction to its junction with Fell Foot Brow.

Alternative Route for south bound traffic: via the unrestricted section of the A592, Lake Road, Main Road (A5074), Church Street, Kendal Road, A591 and the A590.

Alternative Route for north west bound traffic: via the A590, A591, Kendal Road, Church Street, Crescent Road (A5074), Lake Road and the unrestricted section of the A592.

8. U5663, Far Sawrey - From 1st October 2024 for Approx. duration 2 weeks (Ref: TTROW/11674) From a point approx. 630 m north of its junction with the B5285, extending in a northerly direction of approx. 500 m.

9. A685, Grayrigg - From 1st October 2024 for Approx. duration 2 weeks (Ref: TTROW/11678) From its junction with the B6257, extending in a predominantly northerly direction for approx. 2.2 km.

10. A65, Crooklands - From 2nd October 2024 for Approx. duration 2 weeks (Ref: TTROW/11688) From its junction with the B6385, extending in a south easterly then south westerly direction for a distance of approx. I.5 km.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the A65, A590, A591, Milnthorpe Road, Romney Road (A6) and Burton Road.

11. C5061, Crosthwaite Green - From 2nd October 2024 for Approx. duration 2 weeks (Ref: TTROW/ 11699) From its junction with the C5060, extending in a predominantly southerly direction to its junction with Totters Bank.

Alternative Route: via Totters Bank, A5074 and the C5060.

12. C5077, Gatebeck - From 2nd October 2024 for Approx. duration 2 weeks (Ref: TTROW/11700) From its junction with the C5094, extending in a south westerly direction to its junction with the A65.

13. C5068 Kiln Road, New Hutton - From 2nd October 2024 for Approx. duration 2 weeks (Ref: TTROW/11701) From its junction with A684, extending in a predominantly northerly direction to its junction with Docker Lane.

27. C5001 The Struggle and Kirkstone Road, Ambleside - From 2nd October for Approx. duration 2 weeks (Ref: TTROW/11713) From its junction with Kirkstone Pass (A592), extending in south westerly direction to its junction with Edinboro.

Alternative Route for south bound traffic: via Kirkstone Pass (A592), Patterdale Road, Ambleside Road (A59I), Lake Road, Wansfell Road, Rothay Road, Rydal Road, Smithy Brow and the unrestricted section of Kirkstone Road.

Alternative Route for south east bound traffic: via the unrestricted section of Kirkstone Road, Smithy Brow, Rydal Road, Market Place, Lake Road, Ambleside Road (A591), Patterdale Road and Kirkstone Pass (A592).
