Newdigate Street - Temporary Prohibition of Proceeding for Safety and to Enable Cadent Gas
What is happening?
THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (NEWDIGATE STREET AND NEWDIGATE ROAD, KIMBERLEY) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PROCEEDING) ORDER 2024 (BX24-140)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council has made an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Kimberley in the District of Broxtowe The effects of the Order will be:
1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding Southwest Bound in the following length of roads
a. Newdigate Road, Kimberley - From its junction with B600 Main Road, Watnall to its junction with Newdigate Street.
b. Newdigate Street, Kimberley - From its junction with Newdigate Road to its junction with Main Street.
2. Vehicles are prohibited from making the following manoeuvre(s) in the following lengths of roads -
a. Prohibition of left turn from Victoria Street onto Newdigate Street.
b. Prohibition of left turn from Beryldene Avenue onto Newdigate Road.
c. Prohibition of left turn from Alandale Avenue onto Newdigate Road.
d. Prohibition of right turn from Cloverlands Drive onto Newdigate Road.
e. Prohibition of right turn from Chilton Drive onto Newdigate Road.
3. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.
4. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.
IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows: From 06:00 hours on Monday 16th September 2024 Until 20:00 hours on Sunday 6th October 2024 inclusive.
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be: B600 Main Road, Watnall - Holly Road - High Spannia - Cliff Boulevard - Maws Lane - Eastwood Road - Main Street and Vice versa
The Order will come into force on 16th September 2024 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out.
The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).
The prohibition is required for safety and to enable Cadent Gas to divert local buses due to the major works at Main Street.
