LONDON BOROUGH OF REDBRIDGE

PROPOSED PEDESTRIAN CROSSING AND A SPARROW CROSSING IN ILFORD LANE,

INTRODUCE ONE-WAY WORKING WITH A CYCLE CONTRA-FLOW ON BRITANNIA ROAD, CHANGES TO THE JUNCTIONS OF ALBERT ROAD AND BRITANNIA ROAD TO INCLUDE SHORT SECTIONS OF CYCLE TRACKS, A NO ENTRY AND BANNED RIGHT TURN AT THE JUNCTION OF BRITANNIA ROAD AND ILFORD LANE.

PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO ROAD HUMPS (RAISED ENTRY TREATMENTS) IN BRITANNIA ROAD, CECIL ROAD, AND DUDLEY ROAD

PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO WAITING, LOADING, AND PARKING PLACE RESTRICTIONS IN ILFORD LANE

[NOTE: This Notice is about proposals to introduce new pedestrian crossings on Ilford Lane including changes to the layout of the footway and carriageway and changes to waiting, loading, and parking places and introduce on Britannia Road one way working with a cycle contraflow and a banned right turn at Ilford Lane. Objections or other comments may be made - see paragraph 5].

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Redbridge ('the Council') proposes to make The Redbridge (Waiting, Loading, Stopping and Street Parking Places) (Amendment No.*) Consolidation Order 202* and The Redbridge (Prescribed Routes) (Amendment No. **) Order 202* under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

2. The general effect of the Orders will be to: -

(1) amend footway and inset parking places on both sides of Ilford Lane between the junctions of Dudley Road and Grange Road.

(2) Albert Road, the northwest side, introduce 12m cycle track at the junction of Ilford Lane.

(3) Introduce on Britannia Road: -

(a) east bound one-way working with a bicycle contraflow.

(b) a banned right turn on to Ilford Lane.

(c) no entry from Ilford Lane except for cycles.

(d) The south side, introduce 12m cycle track at the junction of Ilford Lane.

3. NOTICE IS ALSO HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Redbridge proposes, under section 90Aof the Highways Act 1980, to reconstruct the raised entry treatment in (a) Britannia Road at its junction with Ilford Lane (the length of the road hump would be 6.2 metres including the ramp on Britannia Road), (b) Cecil Road at its junction with Ilford Lane (the length of the road hump would be 7.2 metres including the ramps on either side), and (c) Dudley Road at its junction with Ilford Lane (the length of the road hump would be 6.6 metres including the ramp on Dudley Road).

(Note: A road hump known as a "raised entry treatment" is an elevated section of carriageway that is no more than 100 millimetres higher than the existing carriageway, and which has a flat top that extends across the full width of the carriageway from kerb to kerb, so that the flat top of the speed table or raised entry treatment and the adjoining footways form a continuous surface.)

4. NOTICE IS ALSO HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Redbridge proposes, under section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to provide a new Pelican pedestrian crossing in Ilford Lane (a) outside Nos. 116 and 118 Ilford Lane, and (b) a new 'Sparrow' crossing at the junction of Albert Road and Britannia Road, and zig-zag markings (on which vehicles would be banned from stopping at any time) would be placed on the carriageway either side of the crossings.

5. A copy of the Orders may be examined along with map-based plans at the Customer Centre, Lynton House, 255-259 High Road, Ilford, IG1 1NY between 10am to 4pm Monday to Friday. Any objections and other representations to the proposed Orders must be made in writing stating the grounds on which they are made and sent to the Council by email to: ilfordlane@redbridge.gov.uk or by writing to: Transportation Strategy Team, 2nd Floor (Front), Lynton House, 255-259 High Road, Ilford, IG1 1NY (quoting reference 'Ilford Lane'), within 21 days from the date of publication of this Notice.
