What is happening?
(Footpath 10, Canvey Island) (Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close Footpath 10, Canvey Island, in the Borough of Castle Point. From the junction with Link Road to its junction with Lekoe Road for approximately 261 metres.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 16 September 2024 or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while gas governor replacement works are undertaken.
The alternative route will be via Lekoe Road, Somnes Avenue, Link Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 16 September 2024 and may continue in force for 6 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Cranes Farm Road, Basildon) (Temporary Introduction of Banned Left Hand Turn) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily introduce a ‘no left-hand turn’ restriction from Cranes Farm Road, Basildon in the Borough of Basildon into East Mayne, Basildon in the Borough of Basildon. The restriction is scheduled to commence on 7th October 2024 for 1 night (20:00-06:00), or where stated on a valid permit (EP2015380777 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The restriction is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole installation works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
No alternative route is available.
The Order will come into effect on 19th September 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Great Wheatley Road, Rayleigh) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Great Wheatley Road, Rayleigh in the District of Rochford, from its junction with High Road southwards for approximately 280 metres. The closure is scheduled to commence on 18th September 2024 for 1 night (20:00-05:00) or where stated on a valid permit (EP2012H2635210 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via High Road, Ridgeway and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 19th September 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Hillway, Billericay) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Hillway, Billericay in the Borough of Basildon, from its junction with Outwood Common Road for a distance of approximately 30 metres in a northerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 20 September 2024 for 1 night (20:00-06:00) or where stated on a valid permit (A5022015310820 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close that length of Knightswick Road/Central Wall Road, Canvey Island in the Borough of Castle Point, from the junction with Waarden Road to the junction with Harvest Road a distance of approximately 270 metres.
2. To temporarily close that length of Central Wall Road/Knightswick Road/Furtherwick Road in the Borough of Castle Point, from the junction with Harvest Road to the junction with Waarden Road a distance of approximately 275 metres.
3. To temporarily suspend that length of the one-way traffic length of Knightswick Road, Furtherwick Road and High Street from its junction with Knightswick Road to Canvey Island (the Urban District of Canvey Island (Elder Tree Road and Knightswick Road One-Way Traffic) Order, 1972).
4. To temporarily introduce a ‘no stopping, no loading and no stopping’ restriction in the following lengths of road: Knightswick Road, from the junction with Furtherwick Road to the junction with Festival Road for a distance of approximately 150 metres; and Furtherwick Road and Central Wall Road from its junction with Elder Tree Road to its junction with Harvest Road for a distance of 300 metres in a northerly direction for the duration of the works.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while resurfacing works are undertaken by Essex County Council. The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.
Alternative routes are available via:
- High Street, Mitchells Avenue, Dovervelt Road, Climmen Road and Central Wall Road.

The Order will come into effect on 19th September 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Arterial Road Slip Road From A1245 to A127 Eastbound, Rayleigh) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Arterial Road Slip Road from A1245 to A127 Eastbound, Rayleigh in the District of Rochford, from its junction with Fairglen Interchange to its junction with Southend Arterial Road, a distance of approximately 340m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 23rd September 2024 for 5 nights (21:00-05:00) or where stated on a valid permit (EP2016H2364979 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while bollard works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
Alternative route is via Fairglen Interchange, Southend Arterial Road, Newerdon Road Roundabout and Southend Arterial Road.
The Order will come into effect on 5th September 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Five Bells On Slip Road To Southend Road Westbound, Fobbing/Vange + Vange Bypass, Fobbing/Pitsea Bypass, Pitsea + Five Bells Off Slip Road From Southend Road Eastbound, Fobbing/Vange + Pitsea Bypass Off Slip Road, Pitsea) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close that length of Five Bells On Slip Road To Southend Road Westbound, in the Borough of Basildon, from the junction with Vange Bypass a distance of approximately 310m.
2. To temporarily close that length of Vange Bypass, Fobbing/Pitsea Bypass, Pitsea in the Borough of Basildon, from the junction with Pitsea Bypass Off Slip Road, Pitsea a distance of approximately 3400m.
3. To temporarily close that length of Five Bells Off Slip Road from Southend Road Eastbound, in the Borough of Basildon, from the junction with Vange Bypass a distance of approximately 275m.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close that length of Southend Arterial Road, Basildon in the Borough of Basildon from its junction with Upper Mayne to A127 for a distance of approximately 3850m in a westerly direction.
2. To temporarily close that length of Southend Arterial Road Slip Road from A127 to West Mayne, Basildon in the Borough of Basildon from its junction with Southend Arterial Road for a distance of approximately 350m.
3. To temporarily close that length of Southend Arterial Road Slip Road from Upper Mayne to A127 Westbound, Basildon in the Borough of Basildon from its junction with Burchetts Roundabout to its junction with Upper Mayne for a distance of approximately 350m.
4. To temporarily close that length of High Road, Basildon in the Borough of Basildon from its junction with Willowfields for a distance of approximately 40m.

(St Michaels Road, Hadleigh) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of St Michaels Road, Hadleigh in the Borough of Castle Point from its junction with Bramble Road for a distance of approximately 55m in a northerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 18th September 2024 for 2 days (09:00-16:00), or where stated on a valid permit (EP2023JIT2260 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while vegetation clearance works are undertaken by Trileyx Industrial Cleaning Services.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close those lengths of road in the Borough of Basildon as detailed in the Schedule. The works are scheduled to commence after 5th September 2024, as stated on a valid permit. The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase and re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the disruption.
The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while mains replacement works are undertaken by Cadent Gas.

(Various Roads, Borough of Basildon) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) (No.20) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close those lengths of roads in the Borough of Basildon as specified in the schedule to this notice.
2. A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above lengths of roads for the duration of the closure as required by traffic signs. The signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction is in force.
The Essex County Council (Basildon Borough) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading or Stopping and On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019 will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of roads. All other restrictions and amendments contained in the aforementioned Order remain in force.
The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 5th September 2024, exact dates will be specified on one.network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and re-open to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the disruption.
