What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)
U9510 FOOTWAYS AT COWPEN ESTATE BLYTH
(TEMPORARY FOOTWAY CLOSURE) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council have made an Order to prohibit the use by pedestrian traffic on the following sections of footways in Blyth in the County of Northumberland.
The Order is to be effective from the 23rd September 2024 until the 7th March 2025.
U9510 Cambo Close, Beal Close Footway from its point outside of house number 2 heading south for a distance of 20 metres then west for a distance of 100 metres. It is expected that the footway will only be closed from the 23rd September 2024 until the 25th October 2024 and that the footway will be closed at all times during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 7th March 2025.
The alternative route for pedestrian traffic will be via the U9510 Beal Close Footway, Beal Close.
U9510 Ryal Close Footway from its point outside of house number 2 heading east for a distance of 20 metres. It is expected that the footway will only be closed from the 28th October 2024 until the 22nd November 2024 and that the footway will be closed at all times during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 7th March 2025.
The alternative route for pedestrian traffic will be via the U9510 Ryal Close, Albion Way Footway.
U9510 Ingram Drive Footway from its point at the gable end of 74 Ingram Drive Footway heading south for a distance of 35 metres. It is expected that the footway will only be closed from the 18th November 2024 until the 13th December 2024 and that the footway will be closed at all times during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 7th March 2025.
The alternative route for pedestrian traffic will be via Ingram Drive, U9510 Ingram Drive Footway.
U9510 Footway Past Gable End of 18 and 31 Bothal Close from its point outside of 18 Bothal Close heading south for a distance of 20 metres. It is expected that the footway will only be closed from the 9th December 2024 until the 10th January 2025 and that the footway will be closed at all times during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 7th March 2025.
The alternative route for pedestrian traffic will be via Bothal Close, U9510 Footway Outside 17-24 Bothal Close.
U9510 Craster Close Budle Close Footway for its entire length of 100 metres.
It is expected that the footway will only be closed from the 27th January 2025 until the 21st February 2025 and that the footway will be closed at all times during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 7th March 2025.
The alternative route for pedestrian traffic will be via Craster Close U9510 Craster Close Budle Close Footway.

The closure has been requested by Northern Gas Networks to complete gas mains replacement in the footways. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
