What is happening?

DONKINS STREET, BOLDON COLLIERY
TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING ORDER 2024

Notice is hereby given that on 12/09/2024 South Tyneside Council made an Order under S.14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”) the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit driving on the following sections of road:- Donkins St, Boldon Colliery, from outside no. 20 across the access road with Davison St to Topping Rd to outside no. 28 a distance of 31 mtrs. The Order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road, and in particular to enable Sth Tyneside Council to renew concrete
bays. The Order will come into force on the 12/09/2024. The maximum duration of the prohibition under this Order will be 18 mths however it is anticipated that the prohibition will only be needed from 19/09/2024 for 22
days. All vehicles except those engaged in the works, will be prohibited on the road described above for the duration of the works. The prohibition shall only apply at such times and to such extent as may from time to time
be indicated by the display of traffic signs. During the prohibition, the alternative route will be via Donkins St, Hedworth Lane, Davison St and vice versa.
