What is happening?

U9540 THE CLOSE THE CRESCENT FOOTWAY SEGHILL
(TEMPORARY FOOTWAY CLOSURE) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council have made an Order to prohibit the use by pedestrian traffic on that section of the U9540 The Close The Crescent Footway Seghill from its junction with Stanley Gardens heading east for a distance of 20 metres in the County of Northumberland.
The Order is to be effective from the 23rd September 2024 until the 9th October 2024.
It is expected that the footway will only be closed from the 23rd September 2024 until the 25th September 2024 and that the footway will be closed at all times during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 9th October 2024.
The alternative route for pedestrian traffic will be via Stanley Gardens, The Crescent, The Close and vice-versa. Enquiries should be made to Northumberland County Council’s Contact Centre 0345 600 6400 or at https://one.network (enter the footway number and footway name). – Ref: 139864487.
The closure has been requested by Northumbrian Water to excavate to carry out the removal of a trap within the manhole in the footway. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
