What is happening?
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – (AS AMENDED)
PUBLIC FOOTPATH NOS. 18 (PART) AND 19 HAMMERWICH PARISH
TEMPORARY CLOSURE
Notice is hereby given that the Staffordshire County Council intend, not less than seven
days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit
any pedestrians from proceeding along the following sections of path:
– Public Footpath No. 18 Hammerwich Parish from the Severn Trent Water Treatment
Works for approximately 10 metres in a south easterly direction, and then continuing for
approximately 92 metres in a south westerly direction, and then continuing for
approximately 155 metres in a generally south easterly direction, to the end of the track.
– Public Footpath No. 19 Hammerwich Parish for its entire length, from its junction with
Public Footpath No. 18 Hammerwich Parish for approximately 131 metres in a south
westerly direction.
The closure is required under the provision of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984
Section 14 (1) (b) due to construction works being carried out on the Severn Trent Water
Treatment Works.
No alternative route is available.
A plan will be displayed on site to show the length of path to be closed and the unaffected
rights of way in the area.
This Order will come into operation on 28/9/24 and will remain in force for a period of six
months or until the risk of danger to the public is over, whichever is the earlier. If necessary,
after six months, the Order may be extended for a further period with the approval of the
Secretary of State.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 –
PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS AND CYCLISTS
Ringway, Cannock. Notice is hereby given that Staffordshire County Council on
10 September 2024 made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit pedestrians
and cyclists proceeding along Ringway, Cannock. For more information regarding
access arrangements, timings and diversion routes please visit https://one.network/
?tm=140110284. The Order will come into operation on 16 September 2024 and
the said works will commence on or as near as practicable to that date. It is anticipated
the works will be completed by 20 September 2024. The Order will remain in force for
a period of 18 months or until the site investigation works, which it is proposed to carry
out on or near the road have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
