Strawberry Road - Temporary Prohibitions For QTS / Network Rail To Replace The Footbridge
What is happening?
THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(STRAWBERRY ROAD (FOOTBRIDGE), RETFORD) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITIONS) ORDER 2024 (BS24-216)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Retford in the District of Bassetlaw.
The effects of the Order will be:
1 No person shall proceed by any means in the following length of highway:
Strawberry Road / Pennington Walk -| the footbridge crossing the railway line together with its approaches (between the eastern boundary of 85 Trent Street and the eastern boundary of 81 Strawberry Road)
2 All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.
3 The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.
IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows:
From 08:00 hours on Friday 20th September 2024
Until 17:00 hours on Thursday 30th January 2025
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be:

The Order will come into force on 20th September 2024 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 6 months).
The prohibition is required to enable QTS / Network Rail to replace the footbridge.
